No. 24 ESU Men’s Soccer Falls 1-0 at No. 10 Mercyhurst

ERIE – No. 10-ranked Mercyhurst remained undefeated while handing No. 24 East Stroudsburg University its second loss of the season with a 1-0 win in PSAC men's soccer on Wednesday in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania.

Arash Fahandezh scored his first goal of the season for the game's only goal in the 58th minute, and the Mercyhurst defense limited the Warriors to four shots to post the shutout and improve to 8-0-1 (2-0-1 PSAC).

Senior goalkeeper Troy Hernandez was credited with four saves for ESU while facing 11 shots. Diego Gustin had one save in goal for the Lakers.

ESU moves to 7-2 (3-2 PSAC) after winning both of its conference games last week, 2-0 at West Chester and 3-2 (2OT) vs. Millersville.

The Warriors will face another nationally-ranked opponent when they take on No. 17 Gannon on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
