EAST STROUDSBURG – Nyack scored two goals 15 minutes apart early in the second half to post a 2-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference men's soccer on Wednesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Gavin Penny scored in the 50th minute and Marco Likos scored in the 65th minute as Nyack (10-4-2) won its 10th game of the season. Adrian Ibanez had five saves and ESU held a slight 15-14 edge in shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Nosti had eight saves for ESU (5-7-4), which saw its seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end with its first loss since Sept. 30.

The Warriors came back with three straight wins against PSAC competition which has put them in position to play for a potential playoff spot on Saturday in their regular season finale at Bloomsburg under first-year head coach Rob Berkowitz, who is in his fifth year as head coach of the women's team.

An ESU win and losses or ties by Mercyhurst (at Gannon) and Shippensburg (at California) would put the Warriors in the playoffs for the second straight season. Last year, the Warriors tied for the regular season lead and won their semifinal game before falling in penalty kicks to Shippensburg in the championship.

The Warriors recognized their three seniors before the game – Josh Arcona, Garrison Draper and Steve Sollecito. Arcona is a three-year starter, Draper is a two-year starter and Draper has started 14 games over the last two seasons after transferring from Valparaiso.

Saturday's game at Bloomsburg begins at 2:30 p.m.
