Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior forward Terrance King had his seventh career double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots and East Stroudsburg University opened the second half with a 19-2 run as the Warriors finished their non-conference schedule with a 79-65 win over the University of the Sciences.

ESU (7-5) won its 32nd consecutive non-conference game at Koehler Fieldhouse led by King, senior guard Russell Graham III (14 points, 8 assists) and freshman guard Whis Grant (10 points).

Garret Kerr had 20 points, 15 rebounds and six assists to lead USP (1-7), which shot 72.7 percent (16-of-22) to trail 38-37 at halftime, but missed its first 10 shots and had five turnovers in the first nine minutes of the second half. Alec McClure added 11 points and four others had at least seven.

King jumped two spots to No. 4 on ESU's career blocked shot list, turning back 113 shots over 69 games since earning the PSAC East Freshman of the Year in 2009-10. He posted his third double-double of the year, tied his season-high in rebounds, and had six points, three rebounds and three blocks during the Warriors' decisive burst.

Grant knocked down a three-pointer and assisted on a layup by King, and King threw down an alley-oop from Graham after a steal in the backcourt as ESU scored seven points in 45 seconds early in the half.

The Warriors' next bucket was a lob from freshman guard Matt Tobin to junior forward Duane Johnson over the USP zone, and Graham set up buckets by King and Tobin as ESU built a 57-39 lead at the 11:25 mark.

There were five lead changes and five ties in the first eight minutes of the first half before ESU went on a 10-0 run sparked by two three-pointers by Graham and a putback by freshman forward Lamont Tillery to lead 24-16 at the midpoint of the period.

USP came back with the next six points to close the margin, but couldn't withstand ESU's surge after halftime.

All five starters scored at least eight points and the bench came through with 23 points. Johnson, senior forward Eric Bryan and Tobin, a backup guard, all scored eight points and contributed across the board – Johnson with three rebounds and four assists, Bryan with five rebounds and three assists and Tobin with four of ESU's 13 steals.

All 10 Warriors who played in the first half got in the book and eight players accounted for ESU's first nine field goals, with Graham the only player to score twice on his back-to-back three-pointers. Graham had a team-high seven points and five assists in the first half.

The Warriors wrap up their non-conference schedule at 4-2, winning four straight at home after falling to No. 6-ranked West Liberty and Charleston in a tournament at Shippensburg on Nov. 12-13.

ESU will take its 32-game home non-conference winning streak into the 2012-13 season, a stretch that would hit five years on November 27.

The Warriors' next action will come on January 6-7 as they finish their PSAC crossover schedule with a trip to Lock Haven and Edinboro. ESU is tied for second in the PSAC East at 3-3 entering the second semester and has played in the PSAC Tournament in five of the last six seasons.
