MILLERSVILLE – Redshirt senior Jeremy Gigliotti and redshirt sophomore Andy Noga held Millersville to four hits each, but East Stroudsburg University only generated six hits as the region's top-ranked team edged the Warriors, 1-0 and 2-0, in the first half of this weekend's crucial PSAC East baseball series.

Gigliotti, the Division II leader in ERA, fell to 5-3 on the season and 3-3 in six PSAC East starts, all complete games, despite allowing just his third earned run of the season in 53.0 innings in the opener. ESU's all-time strikeout leader pushed his career total to 221 with a five-strikeout, no-walk performance in his 10th career complete game.

Millersville (35-8, 17-5) starter Derek Kline fired a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and was 2-for-3 at the plate while scoring the game's only run on a two-out double by Mike August in the fourth inning.

The Warriors (23-14, 9-11) managed a two-out infield single by freshman C Eric Forth in the second inning and a two-out bunt single by junior 2B Ryan Guarino in the fifth. They had opportunities with a runner in scoring position in the sixth and seventh but came up empty against the former first team All-PSAC East utility selection.

In the second game, Brooks Rothschild improved to 9-1 with a four-hitter and got a two-out RBI single from Ryan McCormick in the third inning and a leadoff homer from Zach Stone in the fourth inning for two runs of support.

Noga dealt 6.0 innings of four-hit baseball with three strikeouts and a walk, but ESU couldn't capitalize on a pair of two-out singles by junior SS Evan Gallagher and freshman OF Matt Bahnick in the third inning for its best opportunity to put runs on the board.

The Warriors enter Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader against Millersville in fourth in the PSAC East, a game ahead of Mansfield (8-10) in the win column, after the Mounties took a doubleheader from Shippensburg on Friday. ESU has a trip to Mansfield scheduled on May 9 to complete the season series.
