Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG – Mosiah Whyte scored two goals for the second straight game to lead Caldwell to a 2-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in a non-conference men's soccer match-up on Sunday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Whyte also scored twice in Caldwell's 3-0 win over Concord on Saturday and found the net in the eighth and 83rd minutes on Sunday.

ESU (1-1) held a 13-5 advantage in shots, including 8-1 in the second half, but Brian Agostini made three saves in goal for Caldwell (2-0). Sophomore Andrew Congaway had one save for ESU, which opened its season with a 3-1 win over Concord on Friday.

The Warriors had a chance to tie the game on a penalty kick in the 74th minute. The first shot was saved but a Caldwell defender was whistled for entering the box too quickly, but the second attempt was denied by the left post. The Cougars beat the Warriors for the first time in four tries after ESU won in 2000, 2001 and 2010.

ESU is back in action on Wednesday night with a non-conference game at Philadelphia University at 7 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium, part of a season-opening four-game homestand.
