ESU Men’s Soccer Falls to Philadelphia U, 3-0

EAST STROUDSBURG – Philadelphia University scored three unanswered goals in the second half to post a 3-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference men's soccer on Wednesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Milos Racic scored the game's first goal in the 57th minute, deflecting in a shot taken by Sean Crossland, and Ryan Purnell followed with a goal on a free kick less than four minute later. The Rams got their third goal from Dominic Rodriguez in the 75th minute.

Alex Heston made three saves for Philadelphia U (1-1), which was picked third in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference preseason poll after reaching the conference semifinals last season. Sophomore Andrew Chongaway had two saves for ESU.

Philadelphia U improves to 6-2 all-time against ESU, including a 3-2 (OT) win in the last meeting in 2009. ESU won 3-1 in 2008 and the first five meetings were contested between 1985 and 1988.

The Warriors (1-2) open PSAC play next Wednesday when they host West Chester at 7 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium. They will be on the road for their next five games, including four against PSAC competition.
