EAST STROUDSBURG - Tommy Ryan scored three minutes before halftime and Christian Benner scored 21 minutes into the second half to lift West Chester to a 2-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC men's soccer on Tuesday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Senior midfielder Nick Fischer scored his seventh goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 76th minute for ESU (3-9-2, 0-5-2), but the Warriors were unable to produce the tying goal in the closing minutes.

Ryan scored in the 42nd minute and Benner scored in the 66th minute, assisted by Conor Malarney, for West Chester (5-7-2, 4-2-1), which entered tied for fourth in the 10-team conference. The Golden Rams' second goal came three minutes after Dan Venuto put a penalty kick over the crossbar that would have given West Chester a 2-0 lead.

Freshman goalkeeper Callum Hampson had seven saves for ESU, while his counterpart Garrett Bleiler had two saves for West Chester. The Golden Rams held a 17-8 advantage in shots to earn their first win over ESU since 2005, ending a 9-0-2 stretch for ESU.

The Warriors are at Millersville on Saturday before finishing the season with two games next week, traveling to Molloy on Tuesday night and hosting Bloomsburg next Saturday at 5 p.m.
