SHIPPENSBURG – Senior midfielder
Nick Fischer leveled the score with a penalty kick in the 60th minute, but Shippensburg answered two minutes later and added two late goals for a 4-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC men's soccer on Tuesday night at David See Field.
Fischer's sixth goal of the season followed the opening goal of the game by Jonathan DeNicola in the 35th minute, but Sam Talbot scored the first of his two goals in the 62nd and added another in the 82nd after ESU was down to 10 men. Derek Adams added the final goal in the 86th minute.
Shots were even in the first half at seven a side, but Shippensburg held a 12-6 advantage in the second half against an ESU defense that had three shutouts in its last four games.
Freshman goalkeeper
Callum Hampson had four saves for the Warriors (3-8-1, 0-4-1). His counterpart,
Andrew Foran, had two saves for Shippensburg (3-6-2, 1-3-1).
ESU will prepare for a visit from California on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
