SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.V. – Senior forward
Terrance King had 28 points and 10 rebounds and was named Tournament MVP as East Stroudsburg University powered past Shepherd, 97-79, to improve to 2-0 in this weekend's season-opening tournament in West Virginia.

Whis Grant added 13 points after dropping 30 in an 80-79 win over Alderson-Broaddus on Saturday.
King and Johnson are the first ESU teammates to score 20 points in the same game since Grant (30) and Johnson (21) did it in last year's season opener, a 96-92 loss to defending Atlantic Region champion West Liberty.
King, the PSAC Tournament MVP during the Warriors' run to the 2012 conference title, was hampered by foul trouble and scored six points in the win over Alderson-Broaddus but bounced back with the second-most points in his career. He recorded his 11th career double-double and also went over 500 career rebounds.
Johnson, a two-time All-PSAC East selection, had 16 points and five rebounds in the win over Alderson-Broaddus and averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 14-for-20 from the field over the weekend.
King scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 at the line. He was 12-for-16 from the field and 4-for-6 at the line for the game for the Warriors, who led 45-35 at halftime and outscored Shepherd 52-44 in the second half.
ESU shot 56.3 percent from the field and 9-for-21 from the three-point line. The Warriors shot 66.7 percent (18-for-27) in the second half, including a 6-for-9 mark from long distance.
Chad Moore, a returning first team All-WVIAC selection, had 24 points and 10 rebounds after posting 31 points and 12 rebounds in Shepherd's 102-97 win over Bowie State on Saturday night. Morgan McDonald added 16 points and Marcus Pilgrim had 12 off the bench.
ESU led from start to finish, but Shepherd pulled with three (55-52) with 14 minutes left in the second half before the Warriors closed the game on a 42-24 run.
Consecutive three-pointers by sophomore forward
Lamont Tillery, who scored seven points after going for 11 against Alderson-Broaddus, and Grant extended the lead to 61-52 and ESU led by at least seven points the rest of the way.
King scored 14 points in the final 11 minutes, Johnson had 13 in the second half and Grant (3-for-3) and Bridges (2-for-3) combined for 15 points behind the arc after intermission as the Warriors pulled away.

Matt Tobin (six points, two rebounds, four assists) and senior
Blair Ramsey (one point, two rebounds, four assists, three steals) combined for eight assists from the point guard spot. Tillery (seven points) and redshirt sophomore guard
Muhamadou Kaba (five points) provided the bench scoring for ESU.
Johnson (988 career points) and King (985) both have a shot at 1,000 for their career in Saturday's non-conference game at USP. Both players entered the season with 951 career points.
Grant (21.5 ppg), Johnson (18.5) and King (17.0) have combined for 57 of ESU's 88.5 points per game through their first two games. The Warriors are shooting 52.8 percent from the field and 38.2 percent (13-for-34) from the three-point line.
Tip-off on Saturday at USP is at 3 p.m. ESU hosts PSU-Lehigh Valley in its home opener on Monday, November 26 before heading into conference play at Mercyhurst and Gannon on December 1-2.
