PHILADELPHIA - Senior forward
Duane Johnson scored 20 points to become the 24th 1,000-point scorer in East Stroudsburg University men's basketball history as the Warriors suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday, falling 68-53 at University of the Sciences in a non-conference game.
Johnson was 6-for-11 from the field, 2-for-3 from three-point distance and 6-for-6 at the foul line to finish the game with 1,008 points, three games into his senior season. Johnson, a two-time All-PSAC East selection and a first team pick last year, is averaging 19.0 points with two 20-point games this season.
Garrett Kerr, who led Division II with 13.0 rebounds per game as a freshman, had 28 points and 13 rebounds to lead USciences (1-3). Patrick Connaghan had 11 points and nine rebounds, Henry Messinger had 11 points and USciences shot 47.3 percent from the field.

Terrance King had five points and six rebounds. King entered the game with 985 career points and can reach 1,000 with 10 points against PSU-Lehigh Valley on Monday, November 26 in the Warriors' home opener.
ESU led 18-17 with eight minutes left in the first half, but USciences ended the half on an 18-6 run to take a 35-24 lead. The Warriors cut the deficit to seven in the first eight minutes of the second half, but were unable to get any closer.
ESU shot 38.3 percent (18-for-47) overall and 4-for-19 from the three-point line. USciences had advantages of 17-12 in turnovers and 38-28 in rebounds.
