EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore guard
Ryann Fiascki hit the game-tying layup with 33 seconds left, then scored seven of East Stroudsburg University's 16 points in overtime as the Warriors survived Clarion's comeback bid for a 76-69 (OT) win in PSAC women's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Fiascki scored 13 points with seven assists, sophomore forward
Jessica Martin had 12 points and 12 rebounds, junior guard
Andrea Veres also had 12 and redshirt sophomore guard
Steph Cabald added a career-high 11 for ESU (4-5, 3-2), which earned its third straight PSAC win for just the third time in the last six years.
Clarion (5-5, 2-3), led by 18 points and 14 rebounds from sophomore Hannah Heeter, ended the second half on a 15-4 run and briefly took the lead on a three-pointer by Tania Holmes with 51 seconds left, but Fiascki scored the next time down and Martin had a block in the last 10 seconds at the defensive end to force overtime.
Martin and Heeter, who were the PSAC East and West Freshmen of the Year, respectively, a year ago, were both held scoreless in the first half but finished with double-doubles. Martin's was her third of the season and seventh of her career.
THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University looks to finish a 2-0 week with a PSAC match-up with Clarion tonight at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors are coming off a 59-56 win over Lock Haven on Tuesday, scoring the final 7 points to level their PSAC record at 2-2. Clarion has won three straight, including a 79-67 victory at Kutztown last night.

Fayola Moise had the go-ahead putback with 1:13 left, then blocked a shot in the final 10 seconds as the Warriors rallied past Lock Haven, which led 56-52 with 2:54 left. ESU blanked LHU from that point and got a 3-pointer from Jr. G

WARRIORS LEADERS: Martin, last year's PSAC East Freshman of the Year, leads ESU with 11.5 points and 8.3 rebounds and was the PSAC East Player of the Week on November 26. Moise averages 9.4 points and 6.9 rebounds, 2nd in both categories, followed by Veres (8.6 ppg), Borst (7.0) and Fiascki (6.6). Defensively, ESU ranks 4th in the PSAC in opponents' field goal percentage at 34.7.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES: Clarion, picked 5th in the PSAC West preseason poll, is 5-4 (2-2) including last night's win at Kutztown and a 75-53 win over Slippery Rock. Hannah Heeter, the PSAC West Freshman of the Year, is averaging 16.0 points and 11.8 rebounds in five games after starring for Clarion's volleyball team. Jr. G Raven Jones (9.7 ppg, 3.1 apg), Jr. F Ann Deibert (8.9 ppg, 4.4 rpg), Fr. G Mariah Gador (8.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg), Fr. G Tania Holmes (7.4 ppg) and Fr. Whis Grant scored 18 points, including seven straight in a decisive 19-3 run early in the second half, as East Stroudsburg University ran past Clarion for a 75-51 win in PSAC men's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Zechariah Runkle pulled down 10 rebounds to lead ESU (7-2, 4-1), which rebounded from a 68-58 loss to Lock Haven to finish the fall semester.
ESU led throughout, but by only one (33-32) before going on the game-deciding run. The Warriors outscored Clarion 42-23 in the second half and forced 23 total turnovers as part of a strong defensive effort.
The victory keeps the defending PSAC champion Warriors in a tie for the top spot in the PSAC East with Millersville (8-3, 4-1) going into the semester break. The Marauders had a 72-60 win over Mercyhurst after falling to Gannon, 69-52, on Tuesday.
THE MATCH-UP: The Warriors will look to bounce back from a 68-58 loss to Lock Haven when they take on Clarion in the second game of tonight's doubleheader. ESU had a four-game winning streak - and seven-game winning stream against PSAC competition - snapped on Tuesday night. Clarion improved to 3-4 (2-2) with a 69-57 win at Kutztown.
LAST TIME OUT: Lock Haven ran out to a 25-5 lead and ESU never got closer than 9 the rest of the way as the Bald Eagles upset the Warriors' defending PSAC championship club last night. LHU shot 53.2 percent, including 10-for-12 to open the contest.

G Marques Jones (8.7 ppg, 3.3 apg) scored a season-high 17 points last night at Kutztown and Sr. G Calvin Edwards averages 8.1 points and 5.3 rebounds.
