ESU scored six of its 10 runs with two outs in the inning, which included a two-run single by Rathjens and a two-run double by Ernst. Boyer plated runs in both of his at bats, reaching on an error and an earning a bases loaded HBP, and Ernst singled and scored and then belted his run-scoring double.

Philadelphia U got two runs back in the second to make it 10-5, but ESU added two more in the bottom half. Knott hit a leadoff double, his 15th extra-base hit of the season, stole third and scored on a throwing error by the catcher. The Warriors loaded the bases later in the inning and freshman 3B Robert Patete scored on an RBI groundout by senior SS Evan Gallagher.

The Warriors got more two-out offense in the fifth, scoring seven of their eight runs with two down and clubbing seven hits in the inning. Rathjens and Boyer both had two-RBI singles, Kelmer and Ernst had one-run singles and Patete and Gallagher both walked to plate a run.

Freshman Jabin Weaver was credited with his first career win on the mound. The second of five ESU pitchers, Weaver went 3.1 innings without allowing a hit, struck out four and walked one after taking over with a 10-5 lead in the second.
