EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior midfielder Nick Fischer scored the game's only goal with 3:20 remaining in the second overtime to lift East Stroudsburg University to its first win of the season against Dominican in non-conference men's soccer on Monday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Fischer finished a play assisted by redshirt senior midfielder Greg Schook for the second goal of the season and seventh career goal for the 2011 NSCAA All-Region first team selection.

Freshman goalkeeper Callum Hampson, who entered at halftime in his first career appearance for the Warriors, saved a point-blank shot earlier in the second overtime period. Fischer had been denied on a similar opportunity by Dominican's Andres Ruiz at the same end of the field in the first overtime.

ESU held a 22-6 advantage in shots – outshooting opponents 65-20 for the season – and finally got its first result of the year after three one-goal losses. The Warriors held a 4-3 margin in the first half, then outshot Dominican (2-1-1) 18-3 the rest of the way.

Dominican was sent down to 10 men after a red card with six minutes left in regulation and the Warriors took advantage in the closing minutes, winning it after 106:40 had elapsed.

The Warriors open their PSAC schedule this weekend, hosting Mercyhurst on Friday at 1 p.m. and Gannon on Saturday at 12 p.m. Both games are doubleheaders with the women's game to follow.
