EAST STROUDSBURG - Sarah Pastorek scored 17 of her season-high 25 points in the first half as No. 12-ranked IUP improved to 10-2 (5-1 PSAC West) with a 67-49 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's basketball on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Jessica Martin had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead ESU (4-6, 3-3), which had a three-game PSAC winning streak come to an end.
IUP used early advantages of 12-2 and 22-5 to take a 17-point lead (37-20) at halftime. The Crimson Hawks shot 43 percent in the first half before settling at 39.6 for the game, while ESU shot 34.9 percent but had 21 turnovers.

Ryann Fiascki both added seven points for ESU. The Warriors had wins over Cheyney, Lock Haven and Clarion prior to the 16-day break over Christmas and New Years.
THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University takes a three-game PSAC winning streak into tonight's match-up with No. 12-ranked IUP as the Warriors return to action after a 16-day break over the holiday. The Warriors' three straight PSAC wins - over Cheyney, Lock Haven and Clarion - marks just their third three-game conference streak in the last six years. IUP has won 8 straight in the series since a 68-61 ESU win in 2001 and edged the Warriors, 46-45, last season. IUP won 86-18 in 2011.

Whis Grant scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, including two key three-pointers in the final six minutes, as East Stroudsburg University upset No. 16-ranked IUP in PSAC men's basketball on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Senior forward
Terrance King added 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots for the Warriors (8-2, 5-1), who won a match-up of the last two PSAC champions. ESU won the 2012 title while IUP had won the previous two crowns, in 2010 and 2011. Both schools have made the PSAC Final Four in each of the last three years.
ESU takes over sole possession of first place in the PSAC East with the victory. Millersville, also 4-1 entering the night, fell to 8-2 (4-2) with a 69-64 loss to Slippery Rock.
The victory comes four years to the day of the Warriors' last win over a ranked opponent, a 52-49 win at No. 4-ranked Gannon on a three-pointer at the buzzer by Aaron Pinckney on January 4, 2009. ESU improves to 4-13 against ranked opponents under head coach
Jeff Wilson and 3-21 all-time against ranked opponents at Koehler Fieldhouse. The only other wins came in 1998 over #6 Pitt-Johnstown (80-70) and 1972 over #4 Cheyney (74-70).
THE MATCH-UP: Defending PSAC champion ESU hosts No. 16-ranked IUP, which won the previous two titles in 2010 and 2011. Both schools have made the PSAC Final 4 in each of the last three years. IUP knocked off the Warriors, 67-63 at Koehler in 2010 and 81-72 at home in 2011, in the PSAC semifinals and has won 4 straight in the series. They didn't meet in last year's PSAC Tournament, but IUP won the regular season meeting, 65-64, on a putback by Marcel Souberbielle with 4.2 seconds left.
