st & 10 ...  Complete Game Notes (PDF)

• ESU (4-2, 1-2 PSAC East) hosts No. 6 Bloomsburg (6-0, 3-0) on Family Weekend at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Warriors hold a slight 38-37-2 edge in the series but the Huskies have won 7 straight entering their annual match-up.

• ESU is 22-17 in Family Weekend games under 40th-year head coach Denny Douds. The Warriors topped Cheyney, 59-27, in 2012.

• The Warriors will recognize their 2013 PSAC baseball championship team at halftime. ESU won its first PSAC title since 1971 under head coach John Kochmansky, now entering his 7th season. The club also played in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the 2nd time in 3 years.

• ESU is looking for its first win over a ranked team since 2008 (14-11 vs. #25 Virginia Union), and first over a top-10 team since 2005 (52-39 at #2 Bloomsburg in NCAA DII Playoffs). This is the 4th time since 2000 that ESU has played Top 25 teams in back-to-back weeks, after falling 34-20 at #17 West Chester last week. It's the first time both teams have been ranked in the top 20.

• ESU led West Chester, 20-10, at halftime last week before the Golden Rams scored 24 2nd-half points to pull away. Bloomsburg, ranked #9, remained undefeated with a 45-7 win over Millersville (0-6, 0-3).

• R-So. QB Matt Soltes has 16 TD passes and 1 interception through 6 games. He ranks 4th in the PSAC and 18th in DII in pass efficiency (157.7), and 2nd in the PSAC and 25th in DII in total offense (308.7). Soltes left early in the 2nd quarter at West Chester due to injury. He has averaged 359.3 total yards per game in his 13 career starts.

• Bloomsburg Sr. TB Franklyn Quiteh finished 3rd in the Harlon Hill voting for DII's top player last year. He holds the PSAC record for career rushing (6,430) and has two 2,000-yard seasons in his career. He is 2nd in DII in rushing (183.7) this fall.

• The ESU-Bloomsburg game usually features one of the top passing (ESU) and rushing (Bloomsburg) offenses in DII. This year, ESU is 27th in DII in passing (297.3 ypg) and Bloomsburg is 5th in rushing (341.2).

• This fall, ESU is also rushing for 199.3 yards per game, its highest average since 1977 (216.9 ypg). Bloomsburg's rushing defense is 3rd in DII allowing just 67.7 yards per game.

• This is the first meeting between Douds and Bloomsburg interim head coach Paul Darragh, previously the defensive coordinator. Darragh is the 102nd coach that Douds has faced in 414 games. He faced Danny Hale 26 times between his time at Bloomsburg and West Chester.
