ESU Men’s Soccer Falls to Lock Haven, 1-0 (OT)

EAST STROUDSBURG – Trent Burris scored the game's only goal 3:47 into overtime, giving Lock Haven a 1-0 (OT) win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC men's soccer on Wednesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

ESU held a 19-15 advantage in shots, including 12-4 in the second half, in its final home game of 2013. The Warriors (2-12-2, 1-9) finish the season on Saturday at Bloomsburg at 2:30 p.m.

Sophomore goalkeeper Callum Hampson had six saves for ESU, while Brad Sumski made seven saves for Lock Haven (5-11, 3-8).

ESU recognized six seniors and an honorary captain before the game. Tommy Coykendall, from Stroudsburg, joined the Warriors through an association with Team Impact, which matches children facing life-threatening or chronic illnesses with college athletic teams.

Seniors Marc DeFeo (53 career games, 27 starts), Matthew Geidner (60/55), Derek Lopez (51/27), Dominick Morizio (45/41), Nemanja Nikolic (46/45) and Khriswayne Wallace (64/64) were honored prior to kickoff. DeFeo, Geidner, Lopez, Morizio and Wallace were all members of ESU's 2010 PSAC runner-up team.

Wednesday's game marked the first overtime contest between ESU and Lock Haven since 2007, when the Warriors won 1-0 (2OT) for the most recent of its 19 PSAC titles.

ESU and Lock Haven (20) have combined for 39 of the 49 championships in PSAC history, including 31 of 32 from 1976 through 2007. ESU holds a 41-30-6 advantage in the all-time series, including 11-5 in PSAC championship games.
