ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior
Ryan Lubreski had his third straight complete game victory in a 6-1 win in the opener, and the offense produced 20 hits in a 15-8 win in the nightcap as East Stroudsburg University swept a non-conference baseball doubleheader at Saint Rose on Thursday.
Lubreski threw a four-hitter, struck out four and walked three, allowing just a first-inning run, in the game one victory. He shut out No. 9-ranked Shippensburg, 7-0, last Friday and won 5-2 at Dowling on March 15.
ESU (10-6) opened the second game with a five-run first inning and led 13-2 through three frames to complete the afternoon. Eight players had multiple hits, including three from senior outfielder
Eric Boyer.

Drew Hercik and junior 1B
Mike Tenaglia all had two hits in both games. Bennie, Hercik, Boyer and Tenglia combined to go 15-for-34 with five RBI and 13 runs in the first four spots in the order.
ESU hit .423 (30-for-71) on the afternoon with six extra-base hits, including two doubles by junior OF
Chris Knott (3-for-8, 3 RBI, 5 runs).
The Warriors used five pitchers in the nightcap with junior
Colin Taylor (3.0 IP, 2 runs, 1 strikeout) earning the win in his first start of the season. Junior
Jake Ruch didn't allow a hit and struck out two while pitching the fourth inning.
Game 1
ESU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as Hercik singled with one out, Boyer walked and Tenaglia drove in Hercik with an RBI double. Boyer came home on a sacrifice fly by junior catcher
Eric Forth, who flew out to the shortstop in foul territory.
Saint Rose scored its only run in the bottom of the first without the benefit of a hit as Joseph Carcone walked, moved to second on a wild pitch, to third on a groundout and scored on a groundout to second base.
It was 2-1 until the fourth, when ESU scored a pair of unearned runs on three walks, an error and an RBI single by Bennie.
The Warriors added two more runs in the seventh on singles by Hercik and Tenaglia and an RBI double by Knott.
Game 2
ESU scored five runs on six hits in the first inning to break the game open early. The first six batters reached base – Bennie walked, stole second and scored on an RBI single by Hercik, Boyer singled, Tenaglia walked, Forth plated Boyer with an RBI single and Knott singled to score Tenaglia. The Warriors added three in the third, keyed by an RBI double by Knott and a two-run single by redshirt freshman infielder
Matt Walewski. They scored five runs on four hits and two errors in the third, including RBI singles by Tenaglia and Forth.
ESU scored single runs in the sixth and seven innings, as redshirt senior
Brandon Snyder had an RBI double and Hercik belted an RBI single.
Bennie was 2-for-4 (three runs), Hercik was 2-for-6 (two RBI, run), Boyer was 3-for-6 (two runs) and Tenaglia was 2-for-3 (RBI, three runs) in the first four spots. Forth went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs, Knott was 2-for-4 with two RBI and four runs,a nd Walewski went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Armbrust was 2-for-3 with an RBI as well and has hit safely in eight straight games.
The Warriors are away from PSAC play this weekend and host the University of the Sciences on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at Mitterling Field.
