EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior midfielder Otavio Caproni tied the game at 1-1 early in the second half, but Slippery Rock responded three minutes later and posted a 2-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC men's soccer on Friday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
 
ESU (5-11-1, 3-7) was one of 11 schools in contention for six PSAC Tournament spots entering the final weekend of the regular season but was knocked out of the playoff hunt on Friday.
 
Slippery Rock (10-6, 6-4) opened the scoring 2:06 into the game on a goal by Brandon Chiu, and Stephen Donnelly scored the go-ahead goal 4:21 into the second half.

Caproni scored his second goal of the season 1:29 into the second half on an assist from freshman forward Christian Bukowski, his team-leading fifth of the year.
 
Steven Rerick made nine saves for Slippery Rock. Freshman Adam Alton and junior J.B. Pahls both had two saves for ESU. Slippery Rock had a 21-16 advantage in shots.
 
ESU finishes the 2014 season on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against California.
