EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior guard Whis Grant scored 19 points and set the tone early with three three-pointers in the first three minutes, leading East Stroudsburg University to a decisive 100-57 win over Pitt-Johnstown in PSAC men's basketball on Saturday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU (7-3, 6-1) captured sole possession of the PSAC East lead entering the holiday break, scoring the first 14 points and leading 60-24 at halftime. The Warriors' 43-point margin of victory is the second-highest against a PSAC school under 13th-year head coach Jeff Wilson.

Grant (19), sophomore forward Rasheed Moore (18), sophomore forward Steve Harris (career-high 14), senior forward Lamont Tillery (12) and freshman guard Jakwan Jones (11) all scored in double figures for the Warriors.

ESU finishes the 2014 calendar year with 26 wins - going 19-2 last spring, part of a historic 30-2 season and the Warriors' third PSAC championship in program history.

The Warriors return to action against nationally-ranked IUP on Saturday, January 3 at 3 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU won its 20th straight home game against a PSAC school in convincing fashion. The Warriors had leads of 14-0, 21-2 and 41-9 in the first half before settling on a 60-24 advantage at intermission - tied for ESU's largest halftime lead against PSAC opponent under Wilson.

Senior guard Matt Tobin had four points and seven assists to drive the offense in the first half before turning it over to Jones, who tied a season-high with 11 points and had a season-high seven assists.

ESU had four double-figure scorers in the first 20 minutes in Moore (16), Grant (12), Harris (10) and Tillery (10). The Warriors shot 55.8 percent in the first half (24-for-43) and 8-for-17 from the three-point line while holding an 11-2 advantage in turnovers.

Overall, ESU had a 28-12 turnover margin and shot 51.4 percent, including a season-high 13 three-pointers.

Matt Palo scored 17 points and Ian Vescovi had 13 points and nine rebounds to pace Pitt-Johnstown (6-5, 3-4), which was coming off a 103-79 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday. The Mountain Cats ranked fourth in the PSAC in scoring (82.1 ppg) and led the PSAC in field goal percentage (49.8) and three-point percentage (40.8), but shot just 36.5 percent from the field and 2-for-17 from long range.

Grant and Jones both had five steals, part of ESU's season-high of 17 thefts.

The Warriors have scored 99 and 100 points in their last two home games, and are averaging 85.1 points per game (65.0 ppg allowed) during their 20-game home winning streak against PSAC schools which dates to an 83-76 loss to West Chester on February 23, 2013.
