EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior guard Matt Tobin scored all 15 of his points in the second half and added eight assists, leading No. 6-ranked East Stroudsburg University to its 20th straight win, a 75-67 victory over Kutztown on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU (20-0, 10-0) extended Division II's longest active winning streak and is the first DII team to 20 wins this season. The Warriors entered the weekend as one of two undefeated teams remaining in DII, along with Tarleton State (Texas) at 17-0.

The Warriors secured their fourth 20-win season in five years, and the ninth in program history. Head coach Jeff Wilson has been part of six of the nine 20-win campaigns, two as an assistant coach under Sal Mentesana (1990, 1992) and the last four as head coach (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014).

ESU extended the longest winning streak in school history, and also set a mark with its 16th straight win over a PSAC school – breaking a mark set from 1940-41 through 1941-42.

Freshman forward Rasheed Moore had 15 points and seven rebounds and redshirt junior guard Will Brown added 14 points off the bench for ESU.

Tobin, the PSAC leader in assists (5.8 per game), helped account for 26 of ESU's 41 second-half points, with 15 points and five assists leading to another 11.

Tracy Peal had 29 points and 11 rebounds to lead four players in double figures for Kutztown (6-13, 4-5), which pulled within 59-55 with seven minutes left, but the Warriors stayed in front.

ESU was in a fight throughout after a blowout 112-79 win at Mansfield on Wednesday night, when the Warriors used a 34-3 run in just over six minutes in the second half to take complete control.

The Warriors led 34-32 at halftime as senior forward Zechariah Runkle beat Kutztown down the floor for a layup with two seconds left, ending a period in which they didn't lead by more than six points.

ESU scored the first eight points of the second half to go ahead by 10, including a three-pointer by Tobin for his first points of the game, but Kutztown responded each time it looked like the Warriors were going to pull away.

It was 57-49 with just under 10 minutes left, but the Warriors didn't score for the next five minutes and Kutztown chipped away, getting two free throws by Fred Dukes IV and a pair of buckets by Peal to get within 59-55 with the seven-minute mark.

Neither team scored for more than two minutes before ESU had a key surge down the stretch. Junior guard Whis Grant (eight points), seventh in the PSAC with 17.4 points per game, grabbed a defensive rebound and found Tobin for a layup at the other end, putting the Warriors ahead 61-55 with 4:30 to play.

Senior forward Zechariah Runkle (7 points, 6 rebounds) had a defensive board and then a tip-in basket for an eight-point lead, and Kutztown wouldn't get closer than seven the rest of the way.

Tobin had a three-point play, Grant knocked down a three-pointer for a 69-58 lead with two minutes left, and then had a steal and assist on a layup by sophomore guard Jamal Nwaniemeka (8 points) for a 13-point advantage.

Will Brown was key in the first half, scoring 11 points and knocking down three three-pointers. Brown scored in double figures for the third straight game, matching his longest stretch of the season.

Josh Johnson (12 points), Elijah Jackson (11) and Ryan Connolly (10) joined Peal in double figures. Jackson had 10 of Kutztown's 25 turnovers.

ESU, second in DII in turnover margin (+8.2) entering the weekend, had a +14 margin on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors have been +5 or better in 15 of their 20 games.

The Warriors travel to Lock Haven (13-7, 6-4) on Wednesday with the Bald Eagles coming off a 77-76 loss at Bloomsburg on Saturday.
