NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sophomore Seth Bailey broke a 12-year-old school record in the men's high jump, and junior Christina O'Connor improved her NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the women's high jump, to lead East Stroudsburg University at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games at the Armory on Friday night.

Bailey's mark of 6-11 solidified his place on the national list and broke the school record of 6-10 1/2 set by Mike Newhard in 2002 and equaled by Newhard and Brad Fees in 2003.

His previous season best was 6-8 3/4 as he looks for his second trip to the NCAA Championships after competing outdoors as a freshman.

O'Connor cleared 5-8, bumping up her mark of 5-7 1/4 on the NCAA provisional list. O'Connor was an All-American last winter with a sixth-place finish nationally.

The Warriors had four individual winners in Bailey, O'Connor, senior Rachel Pierantozzi (60m dash – 7.78) and freshman Steven Morgan (60m hurdles – 8.36). ESU also won the men's 4x400m relay with senior Keith Parker-Washington, sophomore Derrick Washington, sophomore Angel Gaetan and junior Damien Boham running 3:19.86.

ESU athletes turned in seven new PSAC qualifying marks, and seven improved PSAC marks. They also etched eight new entries on the all-time top 10.

New PSAC qualifiers are junior Danielle Smith in the 400m (58.20), junior Imani Rosario in the 800m (2:24.78), sophomore Chelsea Conover in the mile (5:12.79), senior Kim Wernerspach in the 5000m (17:57.55), sophomore Caitlin Perry in the 5000m (18:35.69), sophomore Kyle Reese in the 3000m (8:52.87) and senior Chris Schneider in the 5000m (14:56.28).

Improved PSAC marks came from Pierantozzi in the 200m (25.55), O'Connor in the high jump (5-8), senior Laura Beimfohr in the pole vault (11-3 3/4), sophomore Julia Molloy in the pole vault (11-3 3/4), junior Steve Ruch in the mile (4:19.55), Morgan in the 60m hurdles (8.36) and Bailey in the high jump (6-11).

Along with Bailey's school record in the high jump, ESU's men received new top-10 entries from Morgan in the 60m hurdles (#3), Schneider in the 5000m (#3) and the 4x400m relay (#5).

Pierantozzi ran ESU's #5 time in the 200m, Smith ran the #5 time in the 400m, Conover clocked the #7 time in the mile and Molloy's pole vault mark is tied for #2.

The Warriors have one more meet remaining, next Saturday at Kutztown's Maroon & Gold, before heading to Bucknell for the PSAC Indoor Championships on March 1-2.
