CARY, N.C. - Senior 1B Mike Tenaglia had a big day, including a grand slam in a 10-run second inning in game two, as East Stroudsburg University completed a season-opening three-game sweep at Saint Augustine's with two wins (12-2, 15-1) on Monday afternoon.

ESU, which opened the season with a 6-2 win on Sunday, will return to North Carolina next weekend with three games at Chowan.

The Warriors jumped out to early leads in both games and got strong starting pitching from senior Matt Smith (4.0 IP) in game one, and junior Andrew Furber (3.0) in his first career start in the nightcap. Furber is a transfer from Gloucester CC (N.J.) and was the winning pitcher in the NJCAA Division III national championship game last spring.

GAME 1 (W 12-2)

ESU scored three in the first, one in the second and four in the third to break the game open. Tenaglia and senior C Nico Delerme had RBI singles in the first inning, Tenaglia drew a bases loaded walk in the second and senior SS Eric Linares and senior OF Chris Knott had RBI singles in the third.

The Warriors added runs in the fifth (sacrifice fly by freshman OF Ian Allen) and sixth (RBI single by freshman 3B Ben Bortz), and got two in the seventh on a two-run single by redshirt sophomore IF Matt Walewski.

Smith threw the first 4.0 innings (2 hits, 1 run). He was relieved by Bortz and freshman Tyler Eckman, who both made their first career appearances, and redshirt junior left-hander Max Mueller.

GAME 2 (W 15-1)

Tenaglia's grand slam highlighted the 10-run second inning, ESU's biggest inning since scoring 10 in the first against Philadelphia University in March 2012.

Junior OF Nick Espino had an RBI double and sophomore 2B Nick Rabasco added a two-run single in the frame. The Warriors got two runs in the fourth on a base hit by Knott, Espino belted a two-run double in the fifth and ESU added its final run on a fielders choice in the seventh.
