PITT-JOHNSTOWN - Redshirt senior
Brendan McKeown advanced to the semifinals at 174 pounds, and four East Stroudsburg University wrestlers are alive in the consolation bracket after the first day of the NCAA Division II Super Region 1 Tournament on Saturday at Pitt-Johnstown.
McKeown, a two-time national qualifier, returning All-American and defending regional champion, will face No. 3 seed August Mizia (Mercyhurst) in the semifinals on Sunday morning. The top three finishers at each weight class will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships, which will be held March 14-15 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Braden Turner (165), a two-time national qualifier and 2012 All-American, was 0-2 to end his collegiate career with a 26-7 record this season.
McKeown, the No. 2 seed at 174, won by first-period fall in his only match of the day, pinning Christopher Matthews (Gannon) in 2:13 in their quarterfinal bout.
He will face No. 3 August Mizia (Mercyhurst) in the semifinals on Sunday morning, a rematch of McKeown's pin in 6:23 in a dual at Koehler Fieldhouse on January 25. McKeown can advance to the NCAA Championships for the third straight year with a victory in the semifinals, or two consolation victories to capture third place.
Marino, seeded No. 6 at 125, lost a 7-5 decision to No. 3 Brian Hauser (Notre Dame, Ohio) before bouncing back with a 9-8 decision over Brad Kakos (Wheeling Jesuit) in the wrestlebacks. He will face No. 7 Austin Camacci (Millersville) in his next consolation bout.
Howey (No. 5 at 149) dropped his quarterfinal bout to No. 4 Colin Landowski (UPJ), 9-2, then won by technical fall over Jonathan Barrett (Wheeling Jesuit) to stay alive entering Sunday.
Searer, the No. 3 seed at 197 and a returning national qualifier from his freshman year, won his opening-round match by a 7-2 decision over Trevor Beiter (Gannon). He dropped from the championship bracket with a 4-3 setback to No. 6 Aram Moffitt (Millersville) and advanced in the consolations by medical forfeit over No. 4 Brandan Clark (Kutztown).
DeLuise (No. 4 at 184) pinned Tyler Dombrowski (Seton Hill) in 2:00 before falling 2-1 to No. 5 Giovanni Ortiz (Kutztown) in the quarterfinals. DeLuise pinned Ortiz in 6:00 in his last action, a dual on February 18. He won an 8-2 decision over Shane Gilmore (Millersville) in his first consolation bout.

Tyler Richardson (285) were all 0-2 on Saturday.
Turner was an All-American with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA's in 2012, and also advanced last year, both at 157 pounds. This year, he won the Midwest Classic at Indianapolis, was runner-up at the ESU Open and Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield, and was ranked No. 4 in Division II entering the regional.
Sunday's action gets underway at 10 a.m. with the semifinals and consolation quarterfinals, followed by the consolation semis. The finals and consolation finals, which will determine the region's three NCAA qualifiers at each weight class, are slated for 2 p.m.
