MILLERSVILLE – Sophomore
Brandon Holup threw a complete game in his first career divisional start, leading East Stroudsburg University to a 7-2 win in the final game of this weekend's PSAC East-opening series after Millersville took the first three games at Cooper Park.

Matt Smith and Millersville's Tad Barton both threw complete games in the opener, with the Marauders prevailing 2-1. Millersville won both games Friday, 5-3 and 9-7 (10 inn.).
Senior outfielder
Chris Knott reached another school record for the third time in five days, recording his 124th career RBI to equal the mark set by Kevin Thompson from 2005-09. Knott broke Thompson's career extra-base hits record (currently 68) on Friday, and captured the career triples record (currently 15) on Tuesday vs. USciences.
The Warriors (13-6, 1-3), the defending PSAC champions, avoided an 0-4 start in PSAC East play with a pair of three-run innings in the series finale.
Millersville improves to 14-7 (3-1) after claiming the PSAC East regular season title last year.
ESU is at Philadelphia University for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, and faces defending regional champion and current NCBWA Atlantic Region No. 1 Shippensburg for four games next weekend.
ESU was ranked No. 2 and Millersville No. 3 in this week's NCBWA Atlantic Region poll.
Game 1 – L 2-1
Smith and Barton both went the distance for their teams, and Millersville struck first in the second inning, getting a run after a hit batter, single, sacrifice bunt and infield single by Mark Stuckey.
ESU tied it at 1-1 in the fourth, as Knott hit a leadoff double, redshirt senior C/DH
Nico Delerme had an infield single and Knott scored on an RBI groundout by senior C
Eric Forth.
Smith pitched around an error and a single in the fourth, but Millersville took a 2-1 lead in the fifth as Tyler Orris led off with a single and scored on a one-out double by Dan Johnson.
Knott was hit by a pitch and stole second in the sixth, but the Warriors were unable to push the tying run across. Barton retired the side in order in the seventh.
Game 2 – W 7-2
Holup had a 0.77 ERA in 11.2 innings over five games this year entering his first career divisional start, and limited Millersville to two runs on five hits for his first career complete game.
ESU collected a series-high 11 hits led by Delerme (3-for-3, 2 RBI), senior SS
Eric Linares (2-for-3, 3 runs), freshman OF
Ian Allen (2-for-3, 2 RBI, run) and Knott (2-for-3, RBI, run).
Delerme lofted a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to give ESU a 1-0 lead in the third before Millersville got the run back in the bottom half, when Kurt Seiders hit a leadoff single and Chas McCormick had an RBI double.
The Warriors scored three runs (two unearned) to go ahead 4-1 in the fourth. Redshirt sophomore 1B
Matt Walewski's leadoff single and Allen's one-out RBI single five batters later were the only hits, as Millersville committed two errors in the frame.
Holup sat Millersville down 1-2-3 in the fourth and held the Marauders to one run in the fifth after a leadoff double, before the Warriors' offense added three runs, all with two outs, in the sixth.
Linares hit a one-out single and scored on a two-out double by Allen. Knott followed with an RBI single, moved to second on an error and scored an RBI single by Delerme to make it 7-2.
Holup surrendered just one base runner, a two-out walk in the sixth, in the final two innings to seal the win.
Delerme and Linares were both 6-for-12 in the series, and Knott was 5-for-10 with two walks, two HBP, three doubles and four RBI. Allen was 5-for-13 with a double, three RBI and three runs in his first conference weekend.

* Knott holds career records for extra-base hits (68) and triples (15), and is tied for the career RBI record (124), 19 games into his senior season.
