EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Danielle Smith (400m) and sophomore Kirsten Muhaw (pole vault) both set school records, and were two of five NCAA Division II provisional qualifiers as East Stroudsburg University track and field athletes competed at Moravian and Bucknell this weekend.

Additional NCAA provisional marks came from junior Damien Boham (400m - 47.95), freshman Ronald D'Eliseo (400m hurdles - 53.26) and sophomore Thomas Freid (javelin - 190-4).

Smith ran 55.75 in the 400m to break the school record of 56.06 set by Jasmin Johnson in 2009. A seven-time PSAC champion, Smith holds ESU records in the 100m dash and 400m outdoors, and 60m dash indoors.

Muhaw cleared 11-11 3/4 in the pole vault to improve on the mark of 11-8 1/2 set by teammate Laura Beimfohr in 2012.

ESU athletes set four meet records at Moravian with Smith in the women's 200m (25.08), Boham in the men's 400m (47.95) and the women's (48.03) and men's (41.94) 4x100m relay teams.

The Warriors won eight events at Moravian overall, also getting first-place finishes from Muhaw in the pole vault, D'Eliseo in the 400m hurdles, freshman Steven Morgan in the 110m hurdles (15.03) and the men's 4x400m relay.

D'Eliseo broke an ESU freshman record with his time of 53.26 in the 400m hurdles, lowering the time of teammate Derrick Washington (53.63) set in 2012.

Smith and Muhaw's school records were among 10 new ESU top-10 performances over the weekend.

At Bucknell, senior Chris Schneider ran 3:53.72 in the 1500m, the fourth-best time in school history. Other men's top 10's came from D'Eliseo in the 400m hurdles (#5), junior Casey Ciaston in the discus (#5, 157-2), the 4x100m relay of Kyle Rickard, Seth Bailey, Morgan and Keith Parker-Washington (#8, 41.94) and the 4x400m relay of Parker-Washington, Robert Garvey, Boham and Washington (#7, 3:16.38).

Women's top 10 marks came from Smith in the 400m, Muhaw in the pole vault, senior Colleen Murphy in the 400m (#7, 57.73), sophomore Julia Molloy in the pole vault (#3, 10-11 3/4) and the 4x100m relay of Murphy, Smith, Tirzah Johnson and Alexis Bell (#5, 48.03).

ESU had four new PSAC qualifiers with the outdoor championships just three weeks away at Shippensburg. Junior Steve Ruch qualified in the 1500m (4:01.75) at Bucknell, sophomore Adam Robertino qualified in the 400m hurdles (56.83) at Moravian, and senior Meghan Ragard (2:21.25) and freshman Lauren Toth (2:19.61) qualified in the women's 800m at Moravian.

Toth broke a freshman record in the 800m, lowering the time of 2:19.64 set by Molly Ginley in 1982.
