EAST STROUDSBURG - Redshirt junior quarterback Matt Soltes and redshirt sophomore tailback Robert Healy highlighted another strong offensive performance and East Stroudsburg University football head coach Denny Douds entered the top 10 on the NCAA's all-division list of games coached in the Warriors' 48-21 win over Lock Haven on Saturday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Douds coached his 422nd career game, all at ESU, tying former Delaware coach Tubby Raymond for 10th on the NCAA all-division list. Douds set the Division II record for games coached in 2011. He improved to 247-172-3 in his 41st season and is three wins from becoming the 20th NCAA football coach to reach 250 career victories.

Only five coaches have coached more games at one institution than Douds has coached at East Stroudsburg.

Soltes was 21-for-32 for 301 yards, four TD and two interceptions and ran for 15 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors (3-1, 2-1), who travel to Shippensburg for a key PSAC East game next weekend. Soltes was coming off a 502-yard, six TD performance (532 total yards) in last week's 47-34 win at Edinboro.

Healy carried 15 times for 117 yards and a TD and had two catches for 26 yards, all in the first half. He entered the week as one of two players in DII with more than 150 yards both rushing and receiving, and has 314 rushing yards, 281 receiving yards and six total TD through four games.

Lock Haven capitalized on an ESU turnover to take a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes, but the Warriors responded with the next 41 points and led 41-14 at halftime - including a 28-7 advantage in the second quarter.

Soltes threw three TD passes in the first half - to R-Sr. TE Steven Jones (1 yard), Sr. WR Ray Dominguez (10 yards) and Sr. WR Dusty Reed (12 yards) - and connected with Jones for a 17-yard TD for the only scoring of the third quarter.

Jones led ESU's receiving corps with a career-high seven catches for 92 yards and two TD, Jr. WR Joe Welk had three catches for 67 yards and Sr. WR Rich Irving had the first three catches of his career for 62 yards.

Reed had two catches for 32 yards and a TD in the first half, and did not play in the second half after grabbing nine catches for 170 yards and four TD in last week's win at Edinboro.

Soltes moved into second in ESU history with 70 career TD passes, surpassing Damian Poalucci (69 - 1994-97). Jimmy Terwilliger holds the ESU, PSAC and Division II record with 148 career TD passes from 2003-06.

Soltes had his 12th game with 300 yards passing and 16th with 300 yards of total offense (316) in his 22nd career start.

Defensively, ESU limited Lock Haven to 273 total yards and just 81 rushing yards on 26 carries. Lock Haven R-So. QB Caleb Walton was 16-for-37 for 192 yards, three TD and an interception, the first career pick for ESU Fr. S Marc Gaudet.

Lock Haven's George Christas intercepted Soltes' first pass of the day and returned it to the ESU 10-yard line, where Walton found Matt Luebbers for a five-yard TD on third-and-goal for a 7-0 lead just 2:21 into the contest.

ESU scored touchdowns on six of its next eight possessions, with Sr. TB Derrick Dyer scoring on a four-yard run, Healy on a one-yard run and Soltes on a six-yard run in the second quarter after two first-quarter TD passes by Soltes.

Walton threw a 24-yard TD to David Cook with 14 seconds left in the first half, and a 21-yard TD to Bernard Smack on the first play of the fourth quarter for the Bald Eagles.

ESU had 541 total yards, 207 rushing and 334 passing. R-So. QB Bruce Campbell was 2-for-2 for 33 yards in relief of Soltes in the fourth quarter for his first career completions.

Sr. LB Cody Simcox had nine tackles and R-Sr. S Anthony Singlar had seven tackles to lead the ESU defense. The Warriors had four sacks of Walton - two by R-Sr. DL Bryan Thomson and one each by Simcox and R-Jr. OLB Kaje Cowans, who had a sack, fumble and fumble recovery in the first quarter.
