CALIFORNIA, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Alex Kardos scored in the 58th minute, but California held on for a 2-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC men's soccer on Friday afternoon.

Both California goals were scored in the first 7:00 of the contest, 4:48 into the game by Elliot Taylor (assisted by Lubos Kubik) and 7:00 in by Eric Campbell (assisted by Taylor).

Kardos pulled the Warriors within 2-1 with an unassisted goal, his second career goal, 12:26 into the second half.

California held an 8-6 margin in shots.  The Warriors had a 5-2 edge in shots on goal, but both Cal shots found the net.

Lucas Exner had four saves for the Vulcans (5-3, 3-2). Freshman Will Boerema and senior J.B. Pahls both played 45 minutes for ESU (5-5, 2-4).

ESU hosts Caldwell in a non-conference match on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before hosting Slippery Rock in a PSAC game next Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
