NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior forward Rasheed Moore scored 19 points to lead four Warriors in double figures as East Stroudsburg University held off New Haven for a 79-73 win in non-conference men's basketball on Wednesday afternoon.

Moore had 19 points and seven rebounds, senior guard Jamal Nwaniemeka scored 14 points, freshman guard Najee Walls had 13 and five assists and junior forward Steve Harris had 10 points and nine rebounds for ESU (8-3), which hosts California in a PSAC game on Sunday at 3 p.m.

New Haven cut ESU's lead to three points (76-73) with 30 seconds left, but Walls made 1-of-2 at the line in two straight trips and the Warriors got a pair of stops at the end.

ESU led 41-27 at halftime, closing the half with a 19-4 run in the final seven minutes. Nwaniemeka hit a three to open the second half and ESU led by double figures until the four-minute mark, when New Haven hit four three-pointers in the last 3:16.

ESU had a 42-28 advantage on the glass, including 18 offensive rebounds.

Walls was last week's PSAC East Freshman of the Week and continued his strong play, shooting 4-for-8 from the field and handing out five assists without a turnover in 32 minutes.

Moore enters 2016 with 965 career points and can become the fourth ESU player to hit the 1,000-point mark as a junior in the new year. ESU's top three scorers - Jonathan Roberts (2,218), Whis Grant (1,860) and Don Bones (1,775) - all hit the mark in three years.
