West Chester (20-8, 15-5), second in the PSAC East behind Millersville (31-9, 18-6), won the nightcap, 10-5.

The two schools meet again in the second half of this weekend's series on Sunday at 1 p.m. at ESU's Mitterling Field.

GAME 1 - L 4-3

Redshirt junior Matt Festa went the distance for ESU on the mound, but Bill Ford's walk-off double in the seventh gave WCU the win.

Both teams scored one run in the first, with ESU's coming on a two-out RBI single by junior DH Dylan Tamecki, before Festa and WCU's Andrew Gernert matched zeroes for the next four innings.

West Chester took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out, two-run triple by Matt Petrizzi.

The Warriors came back in the top of the seventh to tie it at 3-3. Freshman OF Christian Rishel and redshirt junior 3B Drew Hercik both singled to start the frame, and Hercik stole second to put runners on second and third for Bonn, who entered as a pinch-hitter and drove a two-RBI single up the middle.

Freshman 2B Aden Tully pinch-ran for Bonn, moved to second on a groundout and third on a wild pitch before a walk by redshirt sophomore OF Casey Saverio, who stole second, but Gernert got out of the inning.

Robert Knox walked to open the bottom of the seventh for WCU and scored on Ford's one-out double to left.

ESU had eight hits, with Rishel collecting a pair of singles.

GAME 2 - L 10-5

West Chester opened an 8-1 lead after four innings to take the nightcap.

ESU cut its deficit to 3-1 in the third as sophomore OF Ian Allen scored on a wild pitch, but the Warriors left two runners on base and WCU scored once in the bottom of the third and four more in the fourth to take control.

Redshirt junior 1B Matt Walewski had an RBI single and Bonn drew a bases loaded walk for ESU in the top of the fifth. The Warriors added two more in the seventh on an RBI single by Walewski and an RBI double by freshman OF Chase James.

ESU drew seven walks off WCU starter Nick Stallings (6-0) in 4.1 innings. Mike O'Neill threw the final 2.2 innings for the Golden Rams.

Allen and Walewski both had two-hit games. Walewski reached base four times, including a walk and a HBP.

Both teams left 10 runners on base in the nightcap. West Chester stranded 11 runners and ESU left six on in game one.
