EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 10-9 walk-off victory in the nightcap, splitting the doubleheader and this weekend's PSAC East baseball series against Lock Haven on Monday at Mitterling Field.

Lock Haven won the opener, 4-0, behind a three-hit shutout by Madison Neddo and led game two, 9-6, going to the bottom of the seventh before the Warriors rallied.

ESU (19-9, 8-8) sent eight batters to the plate in its final half inning, starting with a leadoff double by freshman OF Christian Rishel. Junior Brett Bonn drew a pinch-hit walk, then redshirt sophomore 3B Jay Young hit a one-out RBI single to plate Rishel and pull ESU within 9-7.

Redshirt sophomore OF Casey Saverio had the inning's big blow, a two-RBI triple to right-center that tied the game at 9-9.

LHU (8-14, 7-9) opted to intentionally walk ESU's No. 3 and No. 4 hitters, redshirt junior SS Drew Hercik and junior 1B Dylan Tamecki, to pitch to sophomore OF Ian Allen with the bases loaded and one out.

Allen hit a ground ball to shortstop Ryan Koch against a drawn-in infield, but Koch's throw home was wide of catcher Austin Botts and Saverio crossed with the winning run.

ESU rallied earlier in the game with a four-run third inning after trailing 6-2, but LHU scored two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth to surge back in front.

The two schools split the series, 2-2, with ESU winning 2-1 and LHU capturing a 15-2 win on Saturday in central Pennsylvania.

Young, hitting .441 (41-for-93) through ESU's first 28 games, was 7-for-14 in the series with three RBI and three runs to lead the Warriors offensively.

Redshirt junior Matt Festa didn't allow an earned run in 6.0 innings in ESU's 2-1 win in the first game of the series on Saturday.

ESU's non-conference doubleheader vs. Le Moyne, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast.

The Warriors' next action is slated for Wednesday at Philadelphia University in single nine-inning game.

This weekend's PSAC East series against Mansfield will be played Friday (at Mansfield) and Saturday (at ESU).

GAME 1 - L 4-0

Neddo surrendered just a two-out single in the first and two hits in the sixth, struck out three and walked three for the Bald Eagles.

Allen threw his third complete game of the season for ESU, going all 7.0 innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

It was scoreless through four innings before LHU scored twice in the fifth, sparked by a leadoff homer by Ethan Moore. The Bald Eagles added single runs in the sixth and seventh.

Saverio, Allen and junior 2B Nick Rabasco had hits for ESU. Ryan Henritzy was 3-for-4 in the No. 3 spot to lead Lock Haven.

GAME 2 - W 10-9

Both starting pitchers were knocked out early, and sophomore Tyler Eckman threw 4.0 innings in relief for the longest outing of his career for the Warriors. Eckman extended his ESU single-season record with his ninth save of the year in the first game of the series on Saturday.

ESU led 2-0 after the first inning as Tamecki hit a two-run double to score Young, who walked, and Saverio, who doubled.

LHU got one run back in the top of the second on an RBI triple by Mike Agosto, then scored five in the third including a three-run homer by Austin Botts to take a 6-2 lead.

The Warriors tied it at 6-6 in the bottom half, scoring four runs including a two-RBI double by freshman catcher Mike Sulcoski and the game-tying RBI single by Young.

The Bald Eagles plated two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth, while ESU left a runner on third base in the fourth inning.

Parker Watson (4.0 IP, 3 runs, 7 hits, 6 strikeouts, 1 walk) was effective in relief for LHU, throwing three straight scoreless innings after getting out of the third.

Brett Morrison relieved Watson after Rishel's leadoff double in the seventh inning. Nick Hornbaker came on to pitch to Allen with the bases loaded.

Senior Andrew Furber earned the win in relief for ESU, throwing a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the seventh.
