Moore, Brice Lead Hot-Shooting Warriors to 107-70 Win at Edinboro

EDINBORO - Senior forward Rasheed Moore scored 25 points, redshirt senior guard Quindell Brice had a career-high 19 and East Stroudsburg University shot over 60 percent in a 107-70 win at Edinboro in PSAC men's basketball on Saturday at McComb Fieldhouse.

ESU (5-3, 3-0) shot almost 70 percent (69.7 - 23-for-33) in the first half, leading 56-33 at intermission, to stay unbeaten in PSAC play heading into a match-up at defending PSAC champion Mercyhurst on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Moore shot 9-for-11 from the field (2-for-2 from three) and nearly hit his career-high of 28 points that he set at Chestnut Hill two days before Thanksgiving. He had his 10th 20-point game of his career and his second of the season.

Brice was 8-for-10 and also hit a three-pointer on his way to 19 points, surpassing his previous career-best of 16.

Sophomore guard Kitt Najee Walls scored 14 points, going 5-for-6 overall and 4-for-5 from the three-point line, following a career-high 19 in Monday night's win vs. PSU Wilkes-Barre. He also had five of ESU's 22 assists.

Redshirt junior forward Steven Stoney added a season-high 11 points, going 4-for-4 from the field, to give the Warriors four double-figure scorers.

Jaymon Mason, a returning All-PSAC West first team selection, had 26 points to lead Edinboro (2-4, 0-3).  Mikael Anderson (12 points) was the only other Fighting Scot in double figures.

ESU shot 40-for-66 (60.6 percent) from the field, going 10-for-24 from the three-point line and an impressive 30-for-42 on two-point shots, to eclipse 100 points for the second time in three PSAC games. The Warriors won 103-76 vs. Clarion and 66-60 vs. Pitt-Johnstown the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Including redshirt sophomore forward Chris Bing (eight points - 3-for-4), ESU's five starters - Walls, Brice, Stoney, Moore and Bing - combined to shoot 29-for-35 and score 77 points.

The Warriors used a 17-2 first-half run, extending a 14-10 lead to 31-12 at the midpoint of the period, to put help put the Fighting Scots away early.

After building its lead to 23 points at halftime, the Warriors maintained a 20-point margin throughout the second half and pushed it to 91-55 at the eight-minute mark.

Moore, Stoney and Bing all grabbed seven rebounds as ESU had a 40-31 edge on the glass. The Warriors also had an 18-11 turnover advantage.

Junior guard Ryan Krawczeniuk had seven points and a team-high six assists, freshman guard Montrel Morgan scored seven points and redshirt sophomore forward Josh Williams added six points.

Moore moved into 12th at ESU in career points (1,287), passing Al Munford, who scored 1,285 points from 1994-98. He is 45 points from ESU's top 10.
