EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior forwards Rasheed Moore (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Steve Harris (10 points, 11 rebounds) both had double-doubles and East Stroudsburg University survived a second-half comeback by No. 16-ranked West Chester, posting an 88-83 win in PSAC East men's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU (17-5, 13-5) beat a ranked West Chester (18-4, 14-4) team for the second time this season, following an 87-60 win at then-No. 22 WCU on January 9 at Hollinger Fieldhouse.

The Warriors close within one game of the PSAC East lead behind West Chester and Kutztown (17-5, 14-4), which fell 81-77 (OT) at Bloomsburg (14-8, 12-6) on Wednesday night. Each team has four games remaining in the regular season, including ESU's trip to Kutztown on Saturday.

Freshman guard Nick Giordano scored 13 points (11 in the first half) and senior guard Jamal Nwaniemeka and redshirt junior guard Quindell Brice both scored 12 points for the Warriors.

ESU led by as many as 22 points (65-43) with 16 minutes left in the second half and by 18 (74-56) with 9:20 remaining before weathering a 10-0 run that got the Golden Rams back in the game.

WCU cut an 11-point deficit (84-73) with 2:08 left to three (84-81) with 55 seconds remaining before the Warriors held on.

ESU, the PSAC's top-scoring team (89.9 ppg), improved to 15-0 when scoring at least 85 points this season.

Moore had his fourth double-double of the season and the 10th of his career, and Harris had his sixth (all this season).

Freshman guard Najee Walls had six points and six assists, entering as the PSAC leader, 18th in DII and third among DII freshmen with 5.8 assists per game.

Redshirt senior guard Will Brown added nine points after scoring 26, including eight three-pointers, in a 104-62 win at Cheyney on Saturday.

Junior forward Sultan Aminu had five points and six rebounds, senior forward Wes Cherry had five points and four rebounds and sophomore guard Ryan Krawczeniuk had two points and four assists to add to the contributions of Giordano and Brice off the bench.

Malik Jackson scored 17 points, Tyrell Long had 15, Jahmahl Slater had 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Matt Penecale notched 12 points and nine rebounds for WCU.

The Warriors earned their seventh straight win vs. West Chester and have taken 14 of the last 16 since the start of the 2009-10 season, including PSAC championship victories in 2012 (90-85 at WCU) and 2014 (92-80 at ESU).

ESU and West Chester entered as the PSAC East's top two programs since the start of the 2009-10 season, with ESU going 147-54 (92-35 PSAC) and West Chester 123-67 (80-47 PSAC) entering Wednesday night.

ESU remains in the hunt for its fourth straight PSAC East regular season title and won its second straight game after a two-game slide, falling to Bloomsburg and Shippensburg on January 30 and February 1.

The Warriors' three straight outright PSAC East titles are the most since Cheyney won five straight from 1976-80. Millersville won three straight divisional titles from 1985-87.

* ESU recognized Moore (1,077 points), Nwaniemeka (1,050) and Brown (1,037) as 1,000-point scorers prior to the game.
* They are the first trio of active 1,000-point scorers on the same team in program history.
* Wednesday night was the first game in school history that the Warriors played a home game with three 1,000-point scorers on the floor. The first road game was Saturday's 104-62 win at Cheyney.
