DINWIDDIE, Va. - Sophomore outfielder Christian Rishel had six hits and seven RBI in a 22-3 win vs. Post, and redshirt senior right-hander Matt Festa threw 7.0 shutout innings in a 19-1 win vs. Shepherd as East Stroudsburg University posted two wins in non-conference baseball on Sunday.

ESU (7-0), ranked No. 25 in last week's NCBWA Division II poll, has outscored its first three opponents in Virginia by a 55-5 count. The Warriors will play West Chester (3-0) in the championship game of the Dinwiddie Challenge on Monday at 1 p.m.

ESU opened the weekend with a 14-1 win vs. California (Pa.) on Saturday. The Warriors are listed No. 3 in the NCBWA Atlantic Region poll, with Shepherd No. 7 and California No. 10. Shepherd was 39-12 last season.

The Warriors scored 41 runs on 39 hits, 25 walks and four hit batters in Sunday's action.

Rishel was 6-for-7 with a double, seven RBI and three runs vs. Post. His six hits are the most by an ESU player since at least 2003, and the seven RBI are tied for second-most in that time span.

On the mound, junior Tyler Eckman improved to 2-0 with 6.0 innings (3 runs, 2 earned, 8 hits, 4 strikeouts, 0 walks) on the mound vs. Post.

Festa threw 7.0 shutout frames, with eight strikeouts, one walk and five hits allowed, against a Shepherd team that has two All-Region outfielders back from an offense that hit .354 and scored 8.2 runs per game in 2015. Festa struck out four in his final inning of work by virtue of a strikeout/wild pitch.

ESU hit five home runs - including two by redshirt junior OF Robert Bennie vs. Post - and had 14 total extra-base hits on Sunday.

Redshirt junior SS Conner Crookham hit a grand slam as part of a seven-run second inning against Shepherd, and redshirt junior OF Casey Saverio and sophomore catcher Steven Zimmerman, Jr. hit back-to-back homers later in the game.

Zimmerman's homer was the first of his career. Saverio homered twice in Saturday's win vs. California.

Rishel was 8-for-11 with a double, seven RBI and five runs on Sunday. Bennie was 6-for-10 with a triple, two homers, three RBI and seven runs and Saverio was 4-for-8 with two doubles, a homer, four RBI and four runs.

Junior DH Ian Allen was 3-for-7 with a double, five walks, two RBI and seven runs and redshirt senior 3B Drew Hercik was 2-for-5 with a double, three walks, two HBP, two RBI and four runs.

Zimmerman reached base in all five plate appearances, going 3-for-3 with a double, homer, two walks, four RBI and two runs.

Crookham reached in seven of his eight plate trips, going 3-for-4 with four walks, a homer, five RBI and five runs.

In relief, redshirt senior Cody Klinger, redshirt junior left-hander Marty Martens and freshman Eric Petroski all had three strikeouts in a scoreless inning of work against Post.

Entering Monday's game vs. West Chester, ESU has a 103-28 run differential, hitting .415 with a .522 on-base percentage and .680 slugging percentage.
