Travis Toth placed 10th in the weight throw with a mark of 61-9 3/4 to gain All-America second team status and his second career All-America honor at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Pittsburg State University.
Toth (Newfoundland, Pa./Western Wayne) hit his best mark on his third and final attempt, competing in the first flight of athletes.
He entered ranked 11th on the national list at 62-11 1/4, which he threw at ESU's DeSchriver Invitational on February 6.
Toth was eighth in the hammer throw at the 2014 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships for his first career All-America honor.
Toth made his fourth career appearance at the NCAA Championships, combining the indoor and outdoor seasons. He was 11th in the weight throw indoors in 2014 and 13th in the hammer in 2013. Last season (2015) was the first that the ninth through 12th-place finishers were accorded All-America recognition.
Toth redshirted during the 2015 season before returning to the Warriors this winter. He won the PSAC title (60-7 1/4) on February 27 at Edinboro, his third career PSAC title overall and second in the weight throw.
Toth is ESU's 17th multiple-time All-America in men's track and field, and one of 24 to be named All-America overall.
Senior
William Berry competes in the high jump on Saturday afternoon. Berry is tied for 4th on the entry list (7-0 1/2) and is also making his fourth career NCAA appearance. He was second team All-America outdoors last spring.
