BLOOMSBURG - Senior Brandon Holup threw a three-hit shutout in the nightcap as No. 15-ranked East Stroudsburg University completed a four-game sweep of Bloomsburg with a pair of road wins (11-8, 9-0) in PSAC East baseball on Saturday afternoon.

ESU (19-2, 4-0), which set a program record for its best 20-game start in the opener, won both games on Friday at ESU, 15-5 and 5-4 (9 inn.), to open the weekend.

Sophomore OF Christian Rishel punctuated a three-run seventh inning with a two-run homer to break an 8-8 tie in the opener, finishing the game 2-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBI.

Holup threw his second career shutout, allowing just three hits with a career-high 11 strikeouts and three walks. He threw a one-hitter in a 5-0 win vs. Lock Haven as a sophomore in 2014.

The Warriors scored 40 runs in this weekend's series, compiling 82 baserunners on 53 hits, 26 walks and three hit batters. They hit .396 with a.491 on-base percentage and .590 slugging percentage, after entering in the top three in DII in all three categories (.388/.496/.647) and ranking second in DII in runs per game (12.6).

ESU posted its fourth four-game sweep vs. Bloomsburg (previously 1986, 1999 and 2009).

GAME 1 - W 11-8

ESU broke open a 6-0 lead through two innings, then saw Bloomsburg rally to tie it at 8-8 through six before winning it in the seventh.

The Warriors had 14 hits, nine walks and one hit batter and jumped on the Huskies early. Redshirt senior 1B Matt Walewski had an RBI single and redshirt junior OF Casey Saverio had a two-RBI double in the first, and redshirt junior OF Robert Bennie had a solo home run and Rishel a two-RBI double in the second.

BU scored three runs in its half of the third and fourth innings to make it 6-all. The Warriors scored two in the top of the fifth as redshirt junior SS Conner Crookham had an RBI single and redshirt senior 3B Drew Hercik had a sacrifice fly.

Bloomsburg made it 8-8 in the sixth on a two-out, two-run homer by Ryan Kirman.

In the top of the seventh, Crookham walked and Hercik doubled to give the Warriors runners on second and third, and Walewski plated Crookham with the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly. Rishel followed with his two-run homer to put the Warriors ahead 11-8.

Junior reliever Ben Bortz got the Warriors out of the sixth, and got a double play and strike out in the seventh to end it. Bortz was also the winner in relief in Friday's 5-4 (9 inn.) win in game two.

Four Warriors had two hits each in junior OF Ian Allen (2-for-3, 2 walks, 2 runs), Crookham (2-for-4, walk, RBI, 2 runs), Rishel (2-for-4, double, HR, HBP, 4 RBI, run) and Saverio (2-for-5, 2 doubles, 2 RBI).

Allen went 3.1 innings on the mound, throwing two shutout innings before struggling in the third and fourth. Redshirt junior left-hander Marty Martens (2.1 IP, 2 runs) got ESU out of the fourth and threw a scoreless fifth before the home run in the sixth.

GAME 2 - W 9-0

Holup didn't allow a runner past second base, yielding only singles in the first, second and seventh innings along with three walks. He followed up a complete game (8.0 IP, 0 earned runs) in a 3-2 win vs. IUP in the fourth game of last weekend's four-game non-conference sweep.

The Warriors scored two runs in the second, one in the third, one in the fifth and put it away with five in the sixth.

Sophomore catcher Steven Zimmerman, Jr. doubled, junior 2B Billy Sablinski singled and Bennie had an RBI single to get ESU on the board in the second, with Sablinski adding the inning's second run on a wild pitch.

Rishel had an RBI double in the third and Saverio collected an RBI single in the fifth.

In the sixth, Bennie singled and scored on Allen's RBI triple, followed by a two-run homer by Crookham. Hercik walked, Walewski had an RBI double and Rishel had an RBI single to put five runs on the board.

ESU had 13 hits and six walks for 19 total baserunners. Bennie (2-for-5, RBI, run), Allen (2-for-2, 2 walks, triple, RBI, run), Walewski (2-for-4, double, RBI, 2 runs), Rishel (2-for-4, double, RBI, run) and Saverio (2-for-4, RBI) all had two hits.
