MILLERSVILLE - Millersville's pitching staff held East Stroudsburg University to a pair of runs in both ends of the doubleheader to claim a 3-1 edge in this weekend's PSAC East baseball series on Saturday at Cooper Park.

ESU (23-8, 7-5), ranked No. 12 in this week's NCBWA Division II poll, won the first game of the series on Thursday, 7-4, before No. 4 Millersville (26-3, 10-2) captured the final three games, including a 2-1 win in Thursday's nightcap.

The Marauders won both games on Saturday, 4-2 and 13-2.

ESU led 2-1 through four innings in the opener behind a strong pitching performance by redshirt senior Cody Klinger (4.2 IP), before the Marauders took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth.

The Marauders opened the nightcap with seven runs in the first, added three more in the second and three in the fourth. ESU's runs were scored in the third and seventh innings.

Allen tripled and scored on Hercik's two-out single in the first inning, and Hercik singled, advanced on a groundout and scored on a two-out single by redshirt junior OF Casey Saverio in the fourth for a 2-1 lead.

Millersville used a pair of singles, a wild pitch, and a pair of two-out hits to score two runs in the fifth to lead 3-2.

In the nightcap, Young was 2-for-2 with a walk and a run, and redshirt junior OF Robert Bennie was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Young singled and scored on a Bennie RBI single in the third, and senior John Armbrust had a pinch-hit single and scored on Bennie's RBI single in the seventh.
