EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior forward Rasheed Moore had 23 points and 11 rebounds, redshirt senior guard Quindell Brice added 18 and East Stroudsburg University used a 69-point second half to surge past West Chester for a 98-82 win in PSAC East men's basketball on Monday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU (11-3, 9-0) won its eighth straight game and kept pace with unbeaten Shippensburg (13-0, 9-0), which won 85-72 at Mansfield, at the top of the PSAC East standings.

The Warriors trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half, and were down 35-29 at halftime, before exploding after halftime. ESU caught the Golden Rams at 52-52 as part of a 10-0 run and never trailed from that point - ultimately opening up a 10-point lead (74-64) at the seven-minute mark and pulling away down the stretch.

ESU, which had scored 100 points in three straight games to tie a school record, nearly got there again, shooting 22-for-33 (66.7 percent) from the field and 6-for-9 from the three-point line after halftime. The Warriors shot just 11-for-37 (29.7 percent) and 1-for-15 from long distance in the first half.

Moore had his fifth career 20-point, 10-rebound game and 14th career double-double, posting 16 points and six rebounds in 17 second-half minutes.

Brice had 13 of his 18 in the second half, junior guard Ryan Krawczeniuk had 11 of his 15 and sophomore guard Kitt Najee Walls nine of his 13 after the break.

Redshirt sophomore forward Chris Bing scored seven points, redshirt sophomore guard Jakwan Jones added six (all in the first half) and redshirt sophomore forward Josh Williams and freshman guard Montrel Morgan scored five each for the Warriors, who are averaging a PSAC-best 90.6 points per game.

ESU's 9-0 PSAC start is its second-best in school history and one win from tying a 10-0 conference start during the 2013-14 PSAC championship season, when the Warriors went 25-1 in the regular season (15-1 PSAC) and 30-2 overall.

The Warriors rallied from a double-figure deficit for the fourth time this season and the first time since trailing by 12 early in the second half in an 88-81 win at Gannon on December 10.

ESU shot 47.1 percent (33-for-70) overall, 7-for-24 from long distance and 25-for-38 at the free throw line.

The Warriors forced 17 turnovers by West Chester (6-8, 4-5) while giving it up just nine times. The Golden Rams held a 50-40 advantage on the glass.

ESU improves to 15-3 vs. West Chester since the start of the 2009-10 season and is 13-0 in that stretch when scoring at least 80 points. ESU (.727 PSAC winning percentage) and WCU (.629) are the PSAC East's top two programs in that seven-year span.

Zach Bare scored 24 points, Tyrell Long had 21 points and 16 rebounds and Ryan Skovranko had 12 points and 11 boards for WCU, which played without sophomore Malik Jackson, the PSAC's second-leading scorer (22.5 ppg), and senior Jackson Hyland (9 points, 6 rebounds per game).

West Chester led by  as many as 11 three times in the first half, the last at 35-24, before ESU scored the final five points to close within six at intermission.

The Warriors pulled within a single possession twice early in the second half before their 10-0 run, turning a 52-45 deficit with 13:37 left into a 55-52 lead just 90 seconds later - getting a three-pointer by sophomore guard Nick Giordano, a layup by Williams, two free throws by Bing and the go-ahead three by Morgan.

WCU tied it back up on a three by Long, but buckets by Bing and Brice gave ESU a 62-57 lead with less than 10 minutes left, and a tip-in by Williams and a three by Walls extended it to 10 at the seven-minute mark.

Krawczeniuk followed with another three, Brice hit a jumper and Moore converted a three-point play to make it 84-71 with 4:25 remaining.

ESU had 21 assists, getting a season-high seven from Krawczeiuk, six from Walls and four from Jones in the backcourt.

Matt Penecale had 10 points and seven assists at the point guard spot while playing all 40 minutes for West Chester.
