Box Score

NOTE (10/18): ESU has secured its first PSAC Tournament berth since 2010 with 2 PSAC games left in regular season.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Junior forward Eddy Enowbi scored 7:42 into the first half, and East Stroudsburg University used a lockdown defensive effort after the intermission to seal a 1-0 road win over Bloomsburg on Sunday afternoon.

Enowbi deflected in a cross from sophomore forward Lata Petros for his team-leading sixth goal of the season, and the Warriors (9-3-1, 6-3 PSAC) held the Huskies (2-10, 0-8 PSAC) without a shot over the final 50 minutes of the contest to close out the victory.

ESU has now won three games in a row and six of its last seven overall. The Warriors, coming off a 7-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown on Friday, have registered back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2012.

Enowbi's goal came after Bloomsburg's Samuel Izzo hit the cross bar on the second shot of the game 4:40 in. The home side had another near miss in the 10th minute, as Anthony Cerda fired a shot off the post.

The Huskies had a 6-1 advantage in shots after the first 16 minutes, but ESU led 9-1 the rest of the way. Junior goalkeeper Will Boerema made one save on BU's Kevin Rodriguez in the 40th minute to secure his third individual shutout of the season.

Enowbi had a game-high four shots overall, three of which were directed on goal. He has totaled nine points (4 G, 1 A) in the last six games.

The Warriors, in the midst of their best season since 2010, remain in third place in the PSAC standings with 18 points. They are tied with Millersville (10-3-1, 6-2 PSAC), which has played one fewer conference game and holds the tiebreaker between the two teams. The top six in the 12-team league advance to the postseason tournament, with ESU searching for its first bid since that 2010 season.

ESU has a week off before returning to action at Seton Hill at 1 p.m. next Sunday.
