ESU Football Falls to Millersville, 12-0

EAST STROUDSBURG - Tyrone Gibson ran for 183 yards and the game's only touchdown, leading Millersville to a 12-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East football on Thursday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Millersville (2-4, 1-2) ran for 249 yards on 42 carries, with Gibson doing most of the work. He had a 59-yard run to set up a 17-yard TD at the midpoint of the second quarter, finishing with 18 carries.

Quarterback Stephen Flanagan was 8-for-16 for 61 yards and had 13 carries for 39 yards for the Marauders, which won for just the third time vs. ESU since 2001. Wide receiver Kevin Wiggins had six catches for 32 yards, and Phil Overton added eight carries for 30 yards.

Millersville led 7-0 at halftime, and had a safety on a sack by senior linebacker Sean Dugan (12 tackles) on ESU's first possession of the third quarter.

Freshman kicker Joey Farley finished the scoring with a 41-yard field goal with 4:49 remaining.

ESU (2-4, 1-2) outgained the Marauders, 321-310, but had four drives end inside the 30-yard line on two missed field goals (one blocked), a misplayed field goal snap and an interception.

Redshirt junior tailback Jaymar Anderson, who led the PSAC East in rushing (104.0 ypg) entering the night, had 15 carries for 80 yards.

Two Warriors saw time at quarterback, with redshirt freshman Ben Moser starting and going 9-for-20 for 118 yards before leaving due to injury in the third quarter. Redshirt senior Tim DiGiorgio was 8-for-13 for 115 yards and an interception.

Senior wide receiver Tim Wilson had six catches for 93 yards, pushing his season totals to 29 receptions for 457 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior linebacker Dakota Everett (10 tackles, 2 TFL, sack), redshirt senior linebacker Mike Wiand (8 tackles, TFL0 and redshirt senior linebacker Sekou Jones (7 tackles, TFL) led the Warriors defensively. Redshirt junior linebacker Larry Mills had a forced fumble in the fourth quarter.
