ERIE, Pa. – Eduardo de Bonis Encinoso headed in the only goal of the game 19:47 into the first half, as Gannon remained unbeaten in PSAC play with a 1-0 victory over East Stroudsburg University on Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors (6-3-1, 4-3 PSAC) saw a three-game winning streak come to a close, while the Golden Knights (7-4-1, 6-0-1 PSAC) have won six of their last seven games.
The lone strike for de Bonis Encinoso came off a pass from Gannon's Joshua Ott on the right side of the pitch near midfield.
ESU had a 5-0 edge in shots over the final 32 minutes of regulation, but were unable to get the ball past Jorge Hernandez in goal. Three of those attempts came in the final 10 minutes, including a header from senior midfielder
Shaquille Stephenson which was stopped by Hernandez with 5:34 left on the clock.
The Warriors' final chance came off a free kick in the last minute, but a header by sophomore back
Mateo Laredo-Fernandez was sent wide of the net.
Shots were 11-10 in favor of the Warriors overall. Senior midfielder
Christian Bukowski had a team-high four shots, three of which were directed on goal.

Will Boerema matched a season-high with four saves for ESU, while Hernandez made five stops to secure the shutout.
Sunday's win moves Gannon above West Chester into first place in the PSAC standings with 19 points on the year. The Warriors (12 points) currently sit in a tie for third place with Millersville. The top six teams in the standings at the end of the regular season advance to the conference tournament.
ESU returns to Eiler-Martin Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, with the Warriors hosting Bridgeport in a non-conference game scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
