WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Brett Miller tied the score in the 84th minute, and Brett Glasco provided the game-winner with 4:30 left in double overtime to lift West Chester to a 2-1 victory over East Stroudsburg University in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday.

Junior midfielder Brandon Levano converted a penalty kick in the 24th minute for the Warriors (14-4-2), who see their best season since 2008 come to a close. ESU advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time since that 2008 campaign, and claimed its first PSAC championship since 2007.

The Warriors ended the year with an 11-2-1 record over the final 14 games, with the defense allowing only three goals over the last nine contests.

Little separated the teams in the opening half, but it was ESU which pulled ahead midway through following a West Chester foul in the box. Levano improved to 6 for 6 from the penalty spot over the past two years after he calmly sent an effort past Golden Ram goalie Matt Palmer.

West Chester increased its pressure after the intermission trying to find an equalizer. WCU's Colin Hester hit the outside of the post in the 61st minute, and junior goalkeeper Will Boerema made three saves over the first 31 minutes of the second half.

Miller broke through with 6:59 remaining in regulation, tapping in Glasco's cross from the right side for only the second goal by an ESU opponent since Oct. 10.

Neither side had a shot in the remainder of the second half, and West Chester registered the only two shots of the first overtime session.

Junior forward Eddy Enowbi had the best chance for the Warriors early in double overtime, but his effort from the left side of the box was stopped by Palmer in the 102nd minute. Glasco ended the contest four minutes later with a line drive shot into the right corner.

Seniors Keelby Espinola, Christian Bukowski, Shaquille Stephenson and James McMahon each had key roles for ESU in their final collegiate games. They conclude the year having combined for 72 starts, 12 goals and 12 assists.

Espinola, honored as the 2017 PSAC Defensive Player of the Year on Tuesday, ends his career having appeared in and started all 70 games for the Warriors over the past four seasons. Bukowski was also recognized on Tuesday as a repeat first team All-PSAC selection.

The Golden Rams (14-2-2) finished the afternoon with a 17-10 advantage in shots and a 7-4 lead in corner kicks. They will face either top-seeded Charleston or No. 4 West Virginia Wesleyan in the Atlantic Region final next weekend.
