EAST STROUDSBURG - Ryan Zapoticky was 24-for-30 for 370 yards and two touchdowns, and Colin McDermott ran for 121 yards and three scores for Shippensburg in a 40-0 win at East Stroudsburg University in the PSAC East football opener for both schools on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Winston Eubanks caught both of Zapoticky's TD passes for his only two receptions of the day, covering 121 yards - a 74-yarder in the first quarter for the first points for Shippensburg (4-0, 1-0), and a 47-yarder late in the third quarter to close the scoring for the Red Raiders.
Zapoticky entered as the PSAC leader in total offense (336.7 ypg), and Eubanks was the PSAC leader and sixth in DII in receiving (138.7 ypg).
ESU (1-3, 0-1) suffered its first shutout since a 28-0 loss at Bloomsburg in 2000, a span of 183 games.

Ben Moser was 23-for-44 for 247 yards and has yet to throw an interception in 75 attempts across two starts for the Warriors.

Tim Wilson had five receptions for 51 yards to lead 10 Warriors who caught at least one pass. Junior TB

Jaymar Anderson had 10 carries for eight yards after ranking second in the PSAC and 12th in DII in rushing (135.7 ypg) through the first three weeks, entering with 73 carries for 407 yards and three TD and consecutive 100-yard games at Fairmont State (125 yards), at No. 6 IUP (151 yards, 2 TD) and vs. Mercyhurst (131 yards). Anderson also had three catches, the first of his career, for 20 yards.

Mark Collins, Jr. had an interception, the first against Zapoticky (10 TD, 1 Int.) this season.
Ship methodically built its lead, scoring 12 points in the first quarter, 14 in the second and 14 in the third, starting with the 74-yard TD pass to Eubanks with 5:49 left in the first quarter.
McDermott had a three-yard run to cap an eight-play, 54-yard drive late in the first quarter, and scored on a 15-yard run following a 12-play, 95-yard drive after Ship stopped ESU on downs inside the five-yard line in a 12-0 game.
Marcus Lominy had a three-yard TD run with 26 seconds left in the first half, ending an eight-play, 65-yard march, for a 26-0 halftime advantage.
Ship received the second-half kickoff and went 75 yards on five plays, with McDermott scoring from 16 yards, to make it 33-0. Zapoticky hit Eubanks for a 47-yard score with 1:53 left in the third quarter for the game's final scoring.
Shippensburg gained 704 yards, 334 rushing on 50 carries, and 370 passing - all by Zapoticky, who had 422 yards total offense.
McDermott (18 carries, 121 yards), London Whitfield (9-68), Lominy (10-63) and Zapoticky (7-52) all had more than 50 rushing yards. Backup QB Chase Yocum had six carries for 30 yards in the fourth quarter.
Along with Eubanks, Kyle Haines had eight catches for 89 yards and Abel Hoff added five catches for 67 yards.
In their last meeting at Eiler-Martin Stadium, ESU and Shippensburg combined for 136 points in Ship's 69-67 (5OT) win, the longest game in PSAC history.
ESU QB Matt Soltes (9) and Zapoticky (6) set an NCAA Division II record for with 15 combined TD passes in a game, and ESU WR Jon Schnaars set a PSAC record for TD receptions (7).
Ship extends its lead in the all-time series to 33-18-2, and is 8-2 since moving to the PSAC East in 2008.
ESU travels to Cheyney for a 1 p.m. kickoff next Saturday, with the Warriors looking to extend their NCAA all-division record for consecutive wins in an uninterrupted series (37).
