INDIANA, Pa. - Lenny Williams was 15-for-20 for 283 yards and two touchdowns, leading No. 6-ranked IUP to a 38-14 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference football on Saturday afternoon at Miller Stadium.

Redshirt junior tailback Jaymar Anderson had 25 carries for 151 yards and both touchdowns for ESU (1-1), which won 20-16 at Fairmont State last week but couldn't pull the upset in its second straight road trip to a 2016 NCAA Division II Playoff team. IUP won 62-13 at Fairmont State in last year's opening round.

Anderson carried 26 times for 125 yards last week, giving him 51 carries for 276 yards and two TD through the first two weeks. This marks the sixth time in 44 seasons under head coach Denny Douds that an ESU back has consecutive 100-yard rushing games to start the season, and the second straight year, after all-time leading rusher Robert Healy had three straight 100-yard games on his way to the ESU single-season record of 1,163 yards.

Williams, a two-time Harlon Hill candidate who led DII in pass efficiency (214.0), yards per completion and yards per attempt as a sophomore in 2016, led an IUP (2-0) offense that gained 607 yards - 283 passing and 324 rushing.

Duane Brown (17 carries, 137 yards, TD) and Samir Bullock (18 carries, 82 yards, TD), who ran for 200 yards in a 26-23 win vs. Ashland last week, were IUP's top rushers.

Dom McNeil (5 receptions, 101 yards, TD) and Allen Wright (5 receptions, 80 yards, TD) led the Crimson Hawks receivers.

Redshirt senior quarterback Tim DiGiorgio was 8-for-22 for 81 yards and an interception for ESU. Senior wide receiver Tim Wilson had two catches for 30 yards after pulling in four catches for 84 yards and a TD last week at Fairmont State. Sophomore wide receiver Javier Buffalo had two catches for 23 yards.

ESU dodged an early IUP threat after fumbling on its second play, as Dillon Sarka missed a 22-yard field goal after the Warriors' defense held. Sarka made four field goals, including the game-winner from 47 yards on the final play, in IUP's season-opening win vs. Ashland.

Sarka put the first points on the board with a 30-yard field goal, finishing a 14-play, 58-yard drive that lasted almost six minutes, for a 3-0 lead with 5:33 left in the first quarter.

The Warriors responded immediately to go ahead 7-3, covering 73 yards on five plays, with Anderson scoring on a 28-yard run with just under three minutes left in the quarter. Anderson had three carries for 43 yards and Wilson had both of his catches for 30 yards on the drive.

IUP scored 21 straight points in the second quarter for a 24-7 halftime lead. Bullock scored on a four-yard run (10 plays, 66 yards), J.R. Stevens had a 38-yard interception return for a TD and McNeil had a 69-yard TD catch from Williams to extend the lead to 17 with 1:41 left in the half.

IUP scored on the opening possession of the second half to go ahead 31-7, running 10 plays for 85 yards, with Wright hauling in a 25-yard TD from Williams.

Anderson carried six times for 43 yards on ESU's ensuing drive (9 plays, 72 yards), finishing with a one-yard TD run, to get the Warriors within 31-14.

IUP finished the scoring with a 22-yard run by Brown on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Four Warriors had double-digit tackles - redshirt senior linebacker Mike Wiand (12), redshirt sophomore safety Justin Johnson (11, including a sack), redshirt junior free safety Billy Inge (11) and redshirt senior linebacker Sekou Jones (10). Inge had two forced fumbles, one recovered by junior cornerback Tyson Calhoun and the second recovered by redshirt sophomore safety Andrew Linder.

Redshirt junior punter Sam O'Brien had eight punts for a 41.6-yard average, landing three inside the 20-yard line.

ESU hosts Mercyhurst (0-2) in its home opener next Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Lakers fell 19-11 vs. Hillsdale and 21-16 vs. Kutztown, both in Erie, the first two weeks.
