MILLERSVILLE - Redshirt senior forward Steve Harris scored 16 points on 8-for-9 shooting to lead eight Warriors with at least eight points, and redshirt junior guard Jakwan Jones had 10 assists for the second straight game as East Stroudsburg University won 97-77 at Millersville in PSAC East men's basketball on Wednesday night at Pucillo Gymnasium.

ESU (13-4, 10-3), one of four schools within one game of the PSAC East lead after division leader West Chester fell at Pitt-Johnstown, shot 56.3 percent (40-for-71) from the field, 9-for-21 from the three-point line and had advantages in rebounds (40-27) and turnovers (18-15) in posting its sixth win in the last eight games.

Harris, who extended his PSAC-leading field goal percentage to 64.7, scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half. Sophomore forward Kobi Nwandu (6-9 fg) added 10 of his 12 in the first half, and senior forward Ralik Wise (4-5 fg) had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Jones had nine points and 10 assists after posting 13 points and 10 assists in a 101-95 win vs. Kutztown on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse. He pushed his season assist average to 5.7, second in the PSAC, and is the first ESU player with double-figure assists in consecutive games since school record-holder Matt Tobin did it in 2013-14 and again in 2014-15.

ESU head coach Jeff Wilson moved within one win of the top 10 in PSAC history, improving to 284-161 (.638) in his 16th season.

The Warriors host Cheyney on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Shippensburg (14-3, 10-2) assumes the PSAC East lead after Wednesday's results, followed by West Chester (15-3, 11-3), Kutztown (14-3, 10-3) and ESU (13-4, 10-3).

Three Warriors scored nine points each - Jones, senior guard Ryan Krawczeniuk and sophomore guard Montrel Morgan, who was 4-for-5 from the field. Junior guard Nick Giordano and redshirt junior forward Josh Williams added eight points each, with Williams pulling down six rebounds.

Harris entered the night with three straight double-doubles and had a career-high 25 points in Saturday's win vs. Kutztown.

Jordan Greene scored 20 points off the bench to lead Millersville (6-14, 4-10). Leading scorer Marcus Adkison (19.4 ppg) had 13 but was 4-for-13 from the field. Caden Najdawi had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Jamal Washington scored 10 points, all in the first half.

ESU scored the first 10 points of the game and never trailed, but Millersville was within four a couple times in the first half before the Warriors opened a 51-40 lead at intermission.

After the Marauders closed within 58-51 at the 16-minute mark of the second half, ESU ripped off an 11-2 run to put the game away. The Warriors' biggest lead was 22 in the closing moments.

ESU entered fourth in NCAA Division II in scoring (93.8 ppg) and topped the 95-point mark for the 10th time in 17 games this winter.

The Warriors won their sixth straight in the series, eclipsed 90 points for the fourth time in the last five meetings, and scored 119 - the most in a road game in school history - in last year's 119-87 win at Pucillo.
