BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Celeste Veenstra scored her fourth goal in as many games, and juniors Emily Spangler and Karly Conway added solo markers to help East Stroudsburg University to a 3-0 win at Bloomsburg on Tuesday.

The Warriors (8-2, 3-0), who moved up to No. 2 in the latest NFHCA Division II rankings released earlier in the afternoon, handed No. 7 Bloomsburg (6-3, 0-2) a second-straight PSAC defeat. ESU is now 5-2 against nationally-ranked opponents on the year; the full updated DII coaches' poll is available below.

Spangler opened up the scoring 10:28 into the contest, taking a penalty corner from senior Kelli Shapiro and firing her third goal of the season past Bloomsburg's Dana Sheply. Shapiro's assist was her team-leading fourth of the year.

Veenstra doubled the advantage less than seven minutes later, lifting a shot over the goalkeeper from the right side of the circle. Her current scoring run has moved her into a tie for second on the team in goals overall, one back of senior Bailey Quinn.

That would be more than enough offense, as ESU held the Huskies without a shot in the opening half and ultimately allowed just a single shot on goal across 70 minutes. Junior Maddie Richie stopped that attempt midway through the second half to secure her seventh shutout (fourth solo) over the past eight contests.

The Warriors' run of four consecutive clean sheets is tied for the second longest in program history. They have accomplished the feat on six previous occasions, most recently doing so from Sept. 14-24 in 2016. The team record is a five-game run back in 1995.

Conway rounded out the scoring for the visitors on an individual effort three minutes into the second half, as she took the ball into the circle and sent a backhand shot into the back of the cage for her fourth marker of the year.

Shots overall were 15-4 in favor of ESU, including an 11-1 margin in shots on goal. The Warriors have topped Bloomsburg in six of the last seven meetings between the two schools.

ESU is back in action on Saturday, hosting Slippery Rock in its annual Think Pink game at 1 p.m.
