Box Score

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Lindsey Blevins had a match-high 15 kills, while Haley Butler and Jayci Suseland had 10 kills apiece, as Millersville clinched first place in the PSAC Southeast Division standings with a 3-0 victory over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday. Set scores were 25-13, 25-22, 25-18.

The Warriors (20-10, 10-8) will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming PSAC tournament; they will play at No. 1 seed and nationally-ranked Gannon in a quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday, with a start time not yet announced. The Marauders (16-11, 11-7) earned the seventh seed and an opportunity to play at No. 2 Shippensburg.

Sarah Smith recorded nine kills and seven digs for ESU, with the junior held to a single-digit kill total for the first time this season in a match where she played at least three sets. Freshman Jasmine Mooney followed with six kills on the offensive side, with freshman Emily Meredith (15 digs) and senior Tina Predojevic (12 digs) leading the defensive effort.

The Warriors never recovered from an early 6-0 deficit to begin the opening set. ESU was within striking distance throughout the second set, leading 14-12 midway through and trailing by just one at 23-22 in the later stages. Millersville took the next two points on a block and a kill by Suseland to double its set advantage, and the Marauders won 10 of the first 12 points to quickly take control of the third.

Millersville hit .312 as a team in the victory while holding the Warriors to a team attack percentage of .100. ESU held a slim 5-4 edge in blocks, with four block assists from junior Jasmine Williams leading the visitors at the net.

The Warriors will look to regroup in advance of their first PSAC tournament appearance since 2008. They are the lone team to defeat Gannon (27-1, 16-1) all season, handing the Golden Knights a 3-0 setback at Koehler Fieldhouse to begin the conference schedule on Sept. 14.
