GREENSBURG, Pa. – A 15-0 run between the end of the second quarter and beginning of the third quarter propelled the East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team to a 73-58 victory over Seton Hill on Tuesday in a PSAC crossover matchup.
ESU (5-5, 2-2 PSAC) shrugged off a cold start to the contest and closed the opening quarter on an 11-0 run to trim a 16-2 deficit down to 16-13. The Warriors would eventually lead by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter. Seton Hill (6-3, 1-2 PSAC) would struggle offensively in both the second and fourth quarter as the Griffins shot just 35 percent from the field in the contest.

Tiffany Lapotsky matched a career-high by tallying 26 points for the Warriors. Lapotsky also recorded a career-best 13 rebounds while going 12-of-22 from the field. Junior
Jordan Hertz added 14 points, eight boards, and a game-high four assists for ESU. Sophomore
Kaitlyn Swint also hit double figures for the Warriors, finishing with 10 points and five rebounds. Sophomore
Amanda Pike hit a game-high three 3-pointers.
The Griffins were paced by Megan Marecic's 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting. Cheyenne Trest was 7-for-7 at the free-throw line in the contest and finished with 16 points, while Lexi Civittolo added ten points. Seton Hill looked to continue its momentum at home after scoring a program-best 127 points in a victory over West Virginia State on Friday. The Griffins connected on 46 field goals, 17 3-pointers, and dished out 36 assists, all which were program records.
Seton Hill opened the contest with a 14-0 run over the first five minutes of play, going 6-of-9 from the floor. Lapotsky would get the Warriors onto the scoreboard at the 4:20 mark with a jumper from just outside of the paint. The Griffins extended the lead to 16-2 before things would get rolling offensively for ESU. Swint started the run for the Warriors with 3:41 left in the quarter while sophomore
Abby Schoffstall finished a layup at the buzzer to trim the deficit to 16-13.
Swint and Hertz continued the offensive push by the Warriors to start the second quarter as the duo gave ESU its first lead of the contest, 17-16. The lead would change hands six-times throughout the rest of the quarter as ESU took a 28-25 lead into the half thanks to a 3-pointer from Pike with 26 seconds remaining.
Seton Hill rallied early in the third quarter after trailing by five to knot the score 30-30 thanks to a layup from Civittolo. The Griffins would later take a 40-36 advantage with just over five minutes left in the quarter. Lapotsky tallied five consecutive points for ESU with time winding down in the quarter to give ESU a 47-45 lead.
The turning point in the contest would come with 6:53 left in the fourth quarter as Swint broke a 53-53 deadlock with a layup to start an 11-0 run for ESU. Lapotsky finished a layup off the fast break in the paint to put the Warriors up 64-53 with just over five minutes to play. Freshman
Maggie Wigoda finished the scoring in the contest for ESU with a jumper coming at the 1:10 mark to secure the 73-58 victory.
The Warriors continue their mid-week PSAC crossover road trip with a matchup at Cal (Pa.) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. ESU returns to Koehler Fieldhouse on Jan. 9 with a PSAC East matchup against Lock Haven at 6 p.m.
