CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Redshirt senior Josh Williams netted a career-high 29 points, and East Stroudsburg University added another strong performance from its bench to post a 99-86 road victory at California (PA) on Wednesday night.

Williams' 29 points were the most by any Warrior this season, as ESU (8-2, 5-0 PSAC) extended its winning streak to eight games. ESU's reserves, meanwhile, outscored Cal's by a 35-0 margin.

Collin MacAdams had 29 points on 10 of 13 shooting while playing the entire 40 minutes for the Vulcans (3-7, 1-3 PSAC). Six California players combined for 199 of the team's 200 minutes, while ESU had eight players score at least six points.

Williams hit 11 of 16 field goal attempts and 7 of 8 free throws. His previous scoring high was a 22-point effort at Felician on Nov. 20; he has scored in double figures in 8 of 9 appearances this season. Freshman Ryan Smith followed with 14 points (7-11 FG) for ESU, and junior Montrel Morgan chipped in a season-high 11 points and a career-best seven rebounds.

Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field throughout the contest. The Warriors matched a season-high with 10 made 3-pointers, and they had a 39-24 rebounding advantage. Included in that total was a dominant 18-5 margin on the offensive side.

California took a 49-47 advantage into the intermission after a back-and-forth first half which had five ties and three lead changes.

ESU had a 57-55 lead early in the second half, when a Williams layup began a 10-0 stretch for the visitors which put them up double digits. Morgan and redshirt senior Steven Stoney each had 3-pointers during the run, which was capped by a Williams dunk.

California did not get closer than eight points the rest of the way, with the Warriors twice leading by as many as 17 points in the final 10 minutes.

Redshirt senior Jakwan Jones and junior Michal Weiss had 10 points apiece for ESU, while Jones and redshirt sophomore Troy Jones each dished out six assists. Freshman Ish Horn added a season-high nine points in 15 minutes off the bench.

The Warriors have won each game in their current winning streak by at least 10 points. They have won 12-consecutive PSAC regular season games dating back to last year. ESU's win streak reached 13 games in 2017-18 on its way to PSAC and Atlantic Region championships.

After an 11-day break for the holidays, the Warriors will return to action at Sunday, Dec. 30 at Mansfield. That contest, which opens up the PSAC East schedule, is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
