The Rock would close the quarter on a 4-0 run as Hinderliter hit a jumper with nine seconds left to trim the deficit to 20-19.

Slippery Rock quickly gained the lead back in the second quarter as Hinderliter put her team up 23-22 with a layup in the paint. The Rock opened their lead to 29-24 later in the quarter before ESU rallied to knot the score following a 3-pointer from sophomore Amanda Pike. The Rock would end the quarter on a 6-0 run as Quick hit a pair of shots at the free-throw line to send Slippery Rock into the half with a 35-29 lead.

The Warriors worked to eventually trim The Rock lead to one possession in the third quarter as Lapotsky finished a layup in the paint with 1:25 left. Trailing 47-45 ESU looked to knot the score as Lapotsky took a jumper with one tick left on the clock but would just miss.
