UNIONDALE, N.Y. - Six pitchers threw at least an inning and redshirt junior outfielder Christian Rishel and senior catcher  Steven Zimmerman, Jr. had run-scoring hits, giving East Stroudsburg University a 3-2 win at Molloy in non-conference baseball and the 300th career victory for head coach John Kochmansky on Wednesday.

ESU (13-7), coming off a 3-1 weekend at Mansfield to open its PSAC East schedule, takes on defending NCAA Division II champion West Chester this weekend, hosting the second half of the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mitterling Field.

Kochmansky improves to 300-210-2 in his 11th season, including the 2013 PSAC championship (ESU's first in 42 years) and three NCAA Tournament appearances in 2011, 2013 and 2016. The Warriors have set the school record for wins three times under Kochmansky, going 32-22 in 2009, then 34-18 in 2013 and 38-18 in 2016, and had advanced to the PSAC Tournament in six of the last eight years.

ESU scored two runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth while blanking Molloy through the first six frames.

Redshirt freshman left-hander Andrew Alvino threw 3.0 scoreless innings in his first career start, allowing three hits, striking out three and walking one.

He was followed by redshirt senior left-hander Mike Pepio (1.0 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit), redshirt freshman Nate Fiala (2.0 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 1 walk), redshirt sophomore Chris Crookham (1.0 IP, 1 run, 2 hits), redshirt junior Nate Durkin (1.0 IP, 1 run, 2 hits, 1 strikeout) and senior Nick DiEva (1.0 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 1 strikeout), who notched his second save of the season.

Rishel (2-for-2, RBI) and redshirt junior 1B Mike Sulcoski (3-for-3, walk, RBI) both had two of ESU's seven hits off seven pitchers for Molloy (11-12).

After the Warriors threatened in the second on back-to-back singles by Rishel and Sulcoski, they struck for a pair of runs in the fourth with both players prominently involved. Freshman 3B Brock Kauffman led off with a walk, senior DH Laine Renaud was hit by a pitch, Rishel delivered an RBI single and after a wild pitch put runners on second and third, Sulcoski followed with an RBI groundout.

In the fifth, freshman 2B Brainy Rojas had a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on a one-out RBI double by Zimmerman for a 3-0 lead.

ESU's pitchers combined to strand nine Molloy baserunners, including a second-and-third situation in the first. The Warriors threw out a runner at the plate in the third, got an inning-ending double play in the fourth, stranded a runner on third with one out in the fifth and another runner on third in the sixth.

Molloy scored on two hits, a stolen base and sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh, and two hits and a hit batter in the eighth.

Durkin got a strikeout with a runner on second to end the eighth inning, and DiEva stranded a two-out single with a strikeout in the ninth.
